My Artic cat XX has 3cyl Yahmaha engine started to smoke under extreme driving turns and such. Drained some oil out and never did it again.
You can use more oil rather then just what an oil pan can hold. 10 quarts vs 5 quarts. More oil can means cooler temperatures and less break down of the oil.

There’s a few Benefits to dry sump set ups, for example, constant supply of oil on steep gradients or intense cornering, the ability to prime the engine of oil before first start up to prevent premature wear, the ability to hold more oil, the oil pump also acts as a vacuum pump and creates a vacuum inside the engine block which is known to increase horsepower.
