I've had both and speaking from a place of using them more than once The revlon gets too hot and damaged my hair Also I found after using it several times my hair was frizzy and my short baby hairs would stand straight up So far using the dry bar for almost a month my hair isn't damaged at all and I've really learned how to use it , it doesn't give me hardly any frizz especially when I learned how my hair does best with it My natural hair texture is frizzy waves And I have long hair

I had the same issues in the beginning with all volumizers. Now I use L’ange Hair Rival Heat Shield for thermal protection. It helps a lot!

Thank you for much for the candid review! The difference in price point is that Dry Bar blower is professional grade designed to be used all day long everyday and Revlon is a consumer grade designed for once a day use. The high heat in the Revlon tool is a turn-off for me as thermal damage is a big concern for my waist length hair. I would rather invest in a tool that may be pricey at first look than to skimp on the price and pay the ultimate price with damaged hair (my opinion). You've convinced me to go with the Dry Bar dryer brush. :)

I have the dry bar one and it sucks. The bristles did and is well known to fray and squish out after a few uses.

I used both and l have curly hair, drybar is amazing for smooth hair, Revlon was breakage and frizzy to hair and it had burning smell and made heavier and so cheaply made, love drybar the best.

The Revlon is the winner handsdown!!!! Your Revlon side looked awesome with body and the ends were perfect. The Drybar left your hair looking flat with no body and the ends were frizzy.

I wish I would have seen this earlier, I tried the Drybar after I was worried about the Revlon damaging my hair. But hands down the Revlon made my hair much smoother than the DryBar. I had to go over the Drybar with a flat iron after. So yes! Save your money. The Revlon works best!

I like the Drybar one better because it doesn't heat up as high as the Revlon and I feel that it has a feature that prevents it from getting too hot compared to the Revlon which fried my hair because it gets way too hot. Drybar is worth it in the long run to prevent your hair from frying in my opinion, but I loved my Revlon but after the damage I saw from the exponentially increasing heat I knew I needed something that didn't heat up too much.

I cannot use any heat tools without a heat shield or I get excess damage and frizz. The Revlon is still my goto, but there is a lot of new volumizers I need to try now. I’ve seen so many reviews on comparing these and most of them say they are basically the same. Also the hair looks the same when they do it for each product. You are the first I seen that it looks different!

There was a section of the video at the end I left out where I commented on that exact point. I was not happy with the Drybar results, but could not tell for sure if it was due to the bristles being "NEW". Maybe, just maybe, with continued use the Drybar would have better results? The bottom-line for me is the Revlon NEVER had a day 1 issue and has been reliable for many months now. The real choice is possibly between the Hot Tools and the Revlon, both of which being different products under "Helen of Troy". The fact is the Revlon and the Hot Tools are identical in almost every way. The only difference between the the Hot Tools & the Revlon is cord length and the Hot Tools being infused with activated carbon for what that is worth? Thanks for commenting!

I wish Revlon would be cruelty free, otherwise, I'd go with them, but until they stop killing animals so we can brush our hair, I'm not buying. It's the ethical thing to do. Does anyone have a cruelty free alternative that works better?

I agree, I will look into an alternative and hope I can refer away from companies that are not cruelty free in the future. Many companies are trying to sell in markets that demand animal testing. I wish they would just boycott such countries, but corporations seldom ignore huge consumer markets regardless of consequences :( _Thanks for sharing!_

I saw that you have the L’ange heat spray, Lange just came out with one as well you should test theres ! I love it it straightens with the ceramic plate .

My hair is the same length as yours except longer in the very front (a-symmetrical) and i used the Revlon for the first time last night. OMG!!! I am in LOVE!! This brush is perfect!

Thanks for watching! The Drybar ends left me a bit disappointed. I could not tell if it was due to it being brand new or maybe the bristles are a bit too tight for my thickness of hair? _The one main difference is my Revlon never pulled my hair so much, but over time, with use the Drybar may do better?_

I'll have to try that! I'm not sure if it would be better or not. _I ended up returning the Dry Bar as it left my ends frizzy every time. I am not sure why, but I suspect the bristles are too tight for my hair?!?_

I use the L'ange heat shield and SeneGence Haircovery Hold Spray -- I am careful how much heat I apply to my hair, so far so good. _I do agree the Revlon gets hot, the Hot Tools version is a slight bit cooler._ The Dry Bar bristles caused my ends to frizz, but that could just be because it was new?!?

I'm the other way around. I want the Drybar because of the smaller brush, and I NEED less heat. The Revlon burned my scalp 😢 it hurts and it's too irritating. I ended up for money sake but going with the Conair Knot Dr blow out brush. I also can swap out the heads

I have to admit the Revlon is my goto dryer brush. I compared it to the Hot Tools which is almost identical in a recent video. _The strange thing is the Hot Tools always leaves my hair with lots of static?!? I have no idea why that is, since it is almost the exact same product as the Revlon?_

Mine too! And I’ve got mixed curly Afro texture hair and this smooths my out in about 25 mins!!! With volume. But I’m a hairstylist’s daughter and know technique with old round brushes.

They are not identical. Revlon is oval and Drybar is round. Makes a difference.

I do, there were some issues with frizzy ends each time I used it. Maybe it was my hair or too much heat, but I never have that issue with my Revlon or Hot Tools.

Lmao definitely not gurl. You’re paying for the name! I’ve seen all dry bar products for a fraction of the price without the label on it. Dry bar private labels their stuff.

Agreed, it is such a huge part of these large conglomerates and the labels they acquire. Just the other day... "Dec 20, 2019 - Helen of Troy has ended a three-year acquisition hiatus by agreeing to acquire the Drybar hair-care products line for about $255 million in cash." _So I guess now Hot Tools, Revlon & Drybar are all part of the same parent company - only the Dyson & Bed Head dryer brushes are now competitors to H.o.T._
