If this is what you do on a regular basis, please get a respirator mask or one of those fully ventilated hoods grinders use. And consider having your shopvac sucking up fibers before they become airborne. With all the synthetics like polyester and elastane in clothes you are in danger. 👍🙏🏻
@@DougPoker He's not blowing out a single vent, he's doing this multiple times a day! If he does just 2 a day, M-F thats still 40 a month! I dare you to snort lint 40 times a month then revisit this conversation at Christmas! 😂 🤣
It’s North Dakota, that tarp isn’t going to help much with the wind we have all the time. Our average wind speed is almost double what most places in the US are. Tarps here are just one more thing to fight against when you’re doing work outside. Way easier to just vacuum up what you can when you’re done.
I cleaned my dryer screen frequently when I'm using the dryer, and my vents was still lined with lint. You must have your dryer and vents service regularly.
Have you ever used a electric leaf blower after a cleaning on a vacant house dryer vent? Thought my brush cleared it pretty good, did it with no air flow being there wasn't a dryer to push air through then used the leaf blower from the inside, saw a bit of lint roll across the back pad through the window. Said to myself "ill clean that up in a moment"........what didnt roll past the window was a full grown cats worth of lent sitting just underneath the vent end.........that grass was tall too😅🙄
This is the reason there are microplastics in everything we eat and everywhere in the world… Nobody thought that building little lint chimneys in every house would pollute the air
When my chimney guy comes to clean it out, he attaches a shopvac hose to the cord/rod so it sucks up the soot as it's being brushed off with the brush.
That's what I said! I live in an 11 storey apt building, and we pay for our wash and dryer in the basement. Lived in the same building 20 years ago when I was 5. Wonder if the building got its own done.
You think the dryer vent is bad, Have you checked their intake Vents. Inside their house I bet they are just as bad. We bought a house had our dryer vent cleaned and our intake vents cleaned. I don't think it'd been done in 30 years. And wow what a difference we can breathe better and our electric bill went down
So in the USA you have pre-installed dryer piping and vent. We don't have that in Europe. Or at least, I've never seen it. We either get a dryer with tubing to outside and you have to figure out where to place it, or you get a tubeless dryer that catches the moist internally. Which you can obviously place anywhere you like.
Hi, this might be a silly question but is there risk of damaging the dryer machine by getting lint pushed into it? Since it would be plugged to the other end of the duct. Thanks! Great video!
It is estimated that over 10,000 fires are caused by dryers and lint vents in the US a year. Those fires are not small in the slightest. Do yourself a favor and clean your vents.
Are people using dryer vents that go up the walls after the dryer? Or are they on the second floor? I don’t know why the dryer vents on the videos are so high up and have that much lent in them. If the dryer vent goes straight out then there shouldn’t be that much lent, and if the dryer is on the lower level then it would help with winter heating. This isn’t the south, so I know it’s not from trying to avoid heat rising up in the house.
He should have a garbage can under that vent for easy cleaning and long sleeve shirt and a better mask . Your lungs should not be exposed like that with that light mask. You need a stronger one. Great job tho.😊
You wouldn't need a shop vac if you took a tarp and laid it down to catch it and then just pour it into a small trash can with a bag. That's if you don't have a power outlet for a vac.
Unhook your dryer and use a leaf blower from the inside. Quicker and cleaner. Cost nothing and you don’t have to stand in all the lint dust. You’re welcome 😂
