I don’t use hot mud, I don’t know what it is. I use CGC all purpose mud (red label) that comes in the box. For skim coat I dump the box in a bucket and about 3 cups of water and mix to a creamy finish. Most time I cover the bucket to keep the mud from drying out and preserve that creamy texture.
I agree that the trowel has advantages, it’s just that not everyone uses the knife. And I also think that the knifes has its advantages. Knifes and skimming blades have a place in taping I think. 👍🏾😁❤️.
I see you have completely destroyed the floors like all you drywallers do! It's pretty pathetic that you are one of the trades that takes ZERO effort to keep your messes to a minimum, and you cause others huge amounts of work cleaning/fixing everything you destroy with your negligence.
