🔷 ABOUT US 🔷
We're a DIY family building our "forever homestead" from 15 acres of raw undeveloped land in Tennessee. All of our content is family friendly and safe for everyone to enjoy.
In today's video I continue the conversion of this storage shed into a new youtube studio / video set, and home prepping food storage pantry by continuing to install drywall. I also show a new tool that makes drywall cuts so much easier called the RockRipper. Let's go!

The fact that you show your mis-steps and oversights is not only commendable but relatable... many folks get intimidated by taking on projects for fear of failure. You show them it's possible, and even when problems do arise, because Murphy's law, but how you deal with it, and then taking feedback from your viewers, kudos. Outtakes are great too!

your channel is so much fun to watch. You really work your tail off. I also have plantar fasciitis. Hurts like hell, I walk like a 150 year old woman...ugh. I can never go barefoot or it acts up. New Balance and Skechers sneakers have saved me from some painful days. Lots of support. And yes, you need work boots, slamming drywall on your foot is not good........lol Keep on trucking, you'll be done with this building before you know it and then...... take a freaking break. I wouldn't mind see you relax in some videos and shoot the scoop. take care!

That drywalling on the walls you just did blows me away, I have never seen so many cuts for that back area. I have tried to figure out some of it but the other cuts i could not configure in my pea brain. Well done, you have so much patience. Sorry about the bone spur and faucitis, my hubby has it and eventually with physio and the proper footwear he rarely has a flair up. His secret weapon was lots of padding in his shoes, shoes indoors and out at all times and learning when to stop before he aggravates it.

Hi Sam. Let me share with you my successful recovery from painful heel spurs and plantar fasciitis. First, my primary care doctor gave me some heel inserts for shoes. These seemed to spread my weight over a larger area of heel. Then, I figured out on my own that I could reduce three pain further by putting less weight on my heel and more on the ball of my foot. This required a conscious effort for some time. Eventually it became a subconscious rebalance of weight distribution on my foot. This all happened several years ago. Now I no longer need the heel inserts and all of my pain is gone. Hopefully a similar approach might help you get near-term relief and ultimately long term. I thoroughly enjoy watching both of your RU-vid channels, including the family experiences. Good luck on your self heeling of your foot pain. Cheers!!! Dave

Hi Sam, I understand about planter fasciitis as I have it as well. My ortho said to pay the money for the good support shoes. I can't tell you anything about boots but as far as tennis shoes, my ortho said get asics. The reeboks, Nikes have changes so much over the years that they just dont give enough support. Asics are more expensive sometimes but I have found well worth it. Also my ortho initially had to give me a shot in the bottom of my foot(SO PAINFUL) but between that and a heel cup made out of plastic, helped calm down the facetious. He also told me between the factitious and my arch falling, I needed to stay off concrete, which is whaty job at the time floor was. Also said to wear my shoes all the time, walking barefoot will only make the problem worse. I no longer work on concrete, I wear Asics everywhere I go even in the house(I miss being able to go barefoot in the house..LOL)

@dananzur6394
@dananzur6394 Год назад
short of it ive been fighting planter fasciitis about 3 years and i found everything helps, exercise, stretch, good shoe support but the 2 that are now helping the most are wearing supportive ankle braces all day under your socks they are similar to compression socks just a little tighter especially when active, they keep the swelling down. i also bought a brace that keeps my foot at 90 degrees as i sleep stretching your foot as you sleep, dont buy the cheap one buy the one that looks like a soft cast as if you broke your foot, they adjust so you can build up the stretch as time goes on, i couldn't afford but only one they cost around $35 (Amazon) so i alternate feet each night. it took a couple weeks but for the first time in 3 years i'm without pain. one more thing and the most difficult for me stay off a ladder (doctor ordered) and if you have to be on one be very diligent on foot placement, keep as much support under your foot and lastly slow down the pace of which you walk taking deliberate steps that cause the least pain. good luck i love watching a young couple and family working hard to make it, please keep mentioning how your feet are i'm still learning. dan

Sam i hope the orthotic pads work for you along with new boots. My hubby has them in all his shoes after a whole year of plantar pain. He also used a plastic bottle frozen water to roll under his foot to help stretch the tendons. Between both items he is hobble free touch wood. Hope you find the right solution for you.. oh and ladders are the worst for plantar.

This will sound strange. But, I had done this for years. Cut a piece of soft magnet and put it where your arch is with wide clear tape. It has worked for me and several people I have told. I walk on the ball of my right foot for three months. A customer told me to do this. In three weeks. I could walk normal again. Any time it flares up. Back goes the magnet in each shoe.

They do a great job of taking care of you, well worth the money. Currently the footwear they have me on are the Propet brand. I have also had the Gdefy brand from them and a few others. Feet change all the time so I go back every 6 months for new shoes and orthotics. The orthotics are custom made. They do a laser scan of your feet and then make them. With out these special shoes and orthotics I would not be able to walk and I would have to get the surgery, which I do not want. Take care Sam.

Sam I used to get bone spurs so bad I almost couldn't walk. I worked in a photo lab with hard red clay tile floors. I would get these things so BAD. I went to my local doctors...no medicine helped...then I was listening to a doctor on the radio and someone asked about bone spurs and what would help... He said, get hot water as hot as you can stand, fill a cut 2/3ds full then add apple cider vinegar. Now using a clean cloth place it in the cup and soak up the mixture, remove the cloth from the cup and hold against the area that the spur is located. Hold the cloth for about 15 minutes. Do this for three or four days. The spurs will go away.. this works, I and my wife both have tried this and we haven't had bone spurs in years. We swear by this. Try it Sam.
