I have one too, the 125L version. And yes they are under-rated for sure. It's a great bike and super fast on tight woods trails. Light weight, excellent handling, good torque, decent suspension, and they come with the RM85 front disk brake which is super strong, stops on a dime easily. I ride a 4.5 mile woods trail against bigger bikes and there is no way they can hang with the DRZ125L in that tight stuff, just no way. Anyway the DRZ125L is a really great bike for single track and woods trails!
