You think people won't want to leave BMW and Mercedes to get this ? I think you are wrong. I am a German, been a BMW fanatic all my life but I'm done with them. I ordered my DS4 last week. Design is just sensational, what a beautiful car. When I told my friends about my decision, they did their own research about the car and the feed backs are utterly positive. It will sell really well in Germany, that's guaranteed. DS just need to put some effort in , about marketing in Germany and Austria. I believe in Belgium, Netherlands, you guys usually want a German car just to get the badge. That's one dumb attitude.
I’m just being realistic here as the average buyer is pretty conservative and will think about the resale value as well. Anyway, congrats on the new car!
I agree. Plus this one is manufactured in Germany. Enough of German brining designer. Except for the Mercedes interior which keep a certain advantage, all other design segments are leaded by the French … shame.
Let's make no mistake, german cars when new/properly maintained are really among the best in the world. Yes they have "the badge" but they are also fast with lots of technology. I think the main issue i have with the german car industry is that they have become extremely greedy. They sell a basic box-on-wheels as their entry models, and charge extreme amounts of money for every single extra you want added that most other manufacturers include by default and/or for less money. If you want to buy almost any german premium car on its full spec, it is going to cost almost supercar money. And what do you get? Similar reliability, bland and boring design, and limited warranty, compared to the competition. So where do the money go?
@@ΧρήστοςΔενέχεισημασία I agree with most parts of your comment. Many people in other countries don't know that in Germany, there is a lot of anger towards our car makers. Cars they make are just unbelievably expensive. It's no longer justified. 1/ Quality has decreased. It's no longer what it used to be. 2/ Prices have gone up dramatically. 3/ The French car makers have levelled up big time. The cars they produce are as good as German ones in terms of design (probably even better about design than Germans), in quality, reliability and safety. They are less costly (usually 10.000 or 15.000 euros less than German cars at similar level of equipment). Sorry, but in 2022, 10.000 euros make a lot of difference. I am no longer up to pay a big, big extra just to get a German badge. Sad truth is that German cars now are boring , ultra expensive but hey, they still live off their reputation. Meanwhile, many in Europe still trash talk French cars just for the sake of it, without knowing anything about them.
At 7:00 energy efficiency of about 3.9 miles per kWh is good, similar to a Leaf or Zoë. Electric range of 55km is enough for a short commute with hassle free fossil fuel for longer trips.
