This is an unusual and pretty challenging question that appears on Module 1 of Digital SAT Test 5 (the linear/PDF version, not the Bluebook version) that a student requested I go over.
I thought I would use this question to emphasize the value of making a simple diagram (e.g., a quick sketch of a graph) on science-y R&W questions, especially ones that involve complicated relationships between variables. However, there is an additional wrinkle to this question having to do with the x-axis of the graph and the way it depicts time.
