Succeeded! After flashing MR3020 V.3.2 with tp_recovery.bin firmware (openwrt-19.07.7-ramips-mt76x8-tplink_tl-mr3020-v3-squashfs-tftp-recovery) for versions 3.x, it became possible to connect a Nikon D810 SLR camera to it via USB. Then I found the "OpenWrt" wi-fi network of our MR3020 without Internet access on my smartphone, connected to it, entered the qDslrDashboard program on the phone and O! MIRACLE! Now you can control the camera via a smartphone via a Wi-Fi connection wirelessly and without the Internet! Wi-fi adapter Comrades photographers, owners of Nikon D810, D750 and other models, Canon and Sony, I hope you find this message and it will help you!
Hello Jorrit Jongma , I am a photojournalist and have a Canon 5D MarkIII . I was and see your video and I wonder if I can connect the TL- MR3040 will my machine and connect the TL- MR3040 to a wifi router and sent photos to a direct FTP.
Just tried this using a crappy Dragontouch 7" A10 tablet and it all worked PERFECTLY! I am amazed and this is such an excellent app, when you combine it with the TP Link and the tablet, the possibilities are wonderful.
Oh, and on the TP Link, I was running it inside my house where I already have two DDWRT routers running at 140+mW each, no problems. Walked outside, maybe 60' away, through 2 walls and metal door, behind the existing wifi and still strong signal to the crappy tablet. If you have an Allwinner tablet and hate it, this setup may allow you to have some peace of mind.
I downloaded OSX X^$ V3.5.1 qDslrDashboard, do you put this on your Pad or on your camera? I have an iPad and a Canon 5D MK11. This seems to be the cheapest option compared to others that cost $300 or $400.
This is also great for when you hacked your kindle fire to be a external monitor and the battery drains on it is not up to par you can you an external battery for your kindle fire will on WiFi with your kindle fire.
Do you know of any options to have Lightroom sync through this? I just received mine today and changed the firmware. It works great with DSLR controller. Thanks!
I just followed the instructions on the webpage, but i cant connect to the camera, either by WIFI og by USB, what am i doing wrong? The firmware flash is done and working perfekt, but my phone (sony xperia Z3 compact) does not seem to connect to the camera... Help please! :)
I have a Canon 700D, an AV to USB cable and then TP-Link TL-MR3040. However I have an iPhone not an android phone. Are there any apps for iPhone which would connect?
Just wanted to say thanks for a great solution and to let everyone else know that this really works flawlessly. I have it running on a Nexus 7 and have used it with a 5DMK2 and 7D without any problems. I just love projects like this where some ingenuity and curiosity can trump a multinational corporation with essentially unlimited resources. Any chance Canon will be offering something similar for the $43 that this costs? Doubt it. These guys really just made Canon their bitch. Kudos.

***** Nevermind. I was able to get, on a clear evening outside, a little over 110 yards away before I fell out of range. That's pretty impressive. Although I did have some trouble working near a metal building.
zawzero or you could just buy a Nikon camera and this customer firmware would not be necessary at all. just buy this TP link AP, set it to AP mode, plug into a camera like the D4, type the IP of the camera into the browser and you are good to go. works on iOS, windows, android, wherever.
you don't have to. i was using it as an example because that's the camera I have. it works with the low tier full frame cameras too. not sure about the crop censor cameras. the D7xxx can probably do it to since it has the necessary out put functions.

I see this model at amazon. It appears to have better specs. Have you tried it with DSLR controller? www.amazon.com/dp/B004SNESHQ/ref=twister_B00TY83LIM
