DSLR SD and CF adapters you have been warned 

What adapter are you using got a 5d mark ii ordered and there cheaper then cf cards oh and does magic lantern work with the adapters

@@rpgmakerbloodytutorials9486 yes of course ML works. It's just the cheapest ones you find on ebay. I look for the lowest price..highest review!

joeyhcmc the official line from canon is use only full sized cards I have used adapters and they will heat up cards. My advice if you must use adapters use them for short periods. My experience is the adapters after long periods overheat and corrupt your image files

The problem is I did not even get to use this brand new CF adapter. It ruined my 2 Canon DSLR cameras even before I can make a single shot. At first try, I thought is that there is something wrong with my Canon 5D so I tried it on my Canon 20D. As it turned out, it ruined both cameras.

It is exactly the same as what you show on the right side of this video.

I used the 128 GB black micro SD card and inserted it into the CF Card Adapter. I paid for the CF adapter for $30 USD.

Thanks for your comment, was thinking of getting a SD-CF adapter for my 5D Mk1 as well...

Its ok for short bursts but once you start taking images at 10 frames per second it will fail thats why i stopped using it.

@@Technologyadvisor1 well, so it didn't stop working. I think that the speed is related to the SD card and not the adapter, that only have connectors to transmit the data from camera to the sd card.

@@hgbrettas I was using high speed sand disk SD cards not cheap ones

@@Technologyadvisor1 I believe the can be some signal losses between sd and adapter. This can be why the speed slows down

@@hgbrettas I was getting corrupted files canon recommends dont use them

Try it in a 7d taking 25 raw pics in a few seconds then you will find issues

That tells me your memory speed is low

@@Technologyadvisor1 For heavy professional usage, you're 100% right. I wouldn' t even think of trying to spare 2~5% of the cost of a DSLR camera on memory cards if I were accountable to customers !! However, for personal / recreational usage, e.g. to «revive» a 15-years old Rebel or Rebel XT which staid useless on a shelf, these adapters are actually the perfect solution. For just a few JPEG shots per week, it's not worth the cost of a genuine vintage CompactFlash card (especially when the max supported capacity is 4GB or 8GB).
