How can you say that n-2 is even and n-1 is odd directly like that

It is clearly explained in the video, n-1 & n-2 is not odd & even... If you can observe the sequence... Even sequence starts from x(0) and end at x(n-2) and odd sequence starts from x(1) and end at x(n-1)... Also watch the previous videos to understand it clearly....
