The past couple of years has been rough when it comes to fast food for consumers. Quality has gone down and prices are high across the board (with a few exceptions). I'm a big value guy so I strongly disagree with him on a few of his choices The top ones I disagree with: Del Taco - While there is no such thing as the dollar menu any more anywhere, they have a ton of value menu for items under $2.00. There crinkle cut fries are legit, and they sell burgers as well. "A" tier for me. Carl's Jr./Hardees - It's hit or miss for me on this, but if you get a fresh burger, the Super Star with Cheese and the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger are the best burgers in fast food (chains that are widely available). A little pricier, but nowhere near Five Guys. "B" Tier. Five Guys - Considering the price of the burgers, "C-" tier. I've been there once and got one "All the Way" and it tasted like nothing special, and it was cold. If I'm spending $20+ I might as well just go to a restaurant and get a steak dinner for the same price. I've never seen more than a few people in the restaurant at my location, even during lunch. Popeyes - Admittedly, I haven't had their renowned chicken sandwich, but I don't get the hype of the chicken in general. While agree KFC is greasy (I'd contest DSP saying there was an inch of grease with his experience. Over exaggerating much?) it has very tasty skin. Popeyes is bland to me, and their biscuits are hard and tasteless as well. I've had their "Wicked chicken" that they offered in the past and the chicken fingers. They both were dry and stringy. The only thing I enjoyed was the blackened ranch dipping sauce when I've gone there. "C" tier. Little Caesars - Probably the only "S" tier for me. The biggest reason is value. They almost always have a $7.00 large value (Fanciful Pepperoni, Pretzel Crust, Extra Most Bestest Pepperonni or cheese) Pizza every month or two on the menu that's good for at least two meals. There pizza is GOOD to me though, especially at that price. Chick-fil-A shouldn't be an "S" tier solely due to the fact they aren't even open on Sundays.
Thank you feel like think this is some of your best work you know I could just feel the passion when you described The Original Pizza Hut and I remember that era brother thank you for taking us right back there
The S tier stuff doesn't even exist where I live and the only A one nearby is Popeyes. The Pizza Hut story really is a sad one but I hear they're struggling just to stay afloat.
I m from Portugal, McDonalds has been here for the longest, after that Pizza Hut and KFC, in the last 10 years we have seen Burger King, Domino and Subway too, the rest I never seen in Portugal. In my experience, McDonalds isn't that bad here, but I prefer Burger King, the meat is definitely grilled here. As for Pizza Hut, it has always been good to great, not as good as pizza restaurants, but still great taste, the problem is how expensive it is, and in the past 10y I swear they reduced the dose, the familiar size isn't has big as it was before, and it never gotten cheaper! Dunno about Subway or Domino here, but the other 3 seem at least way better than the experiences you describe on USA.
