This is a tried and true DSP classic. As long as he is saying "the truth" he is not being hurtful or negative. So he can call you an idiot if it is the "truth" and there is nothing wrong with that because he is "just being honest".
And there you have it, a classic case of DSP logic. He's not insulting and/or being toxic to players, he's STATING FACTS. This is why he'll never change for the better, because he will always go back to his old ways and use some kind of weird logic to why it's okay.
I don't get his logic. If they're only playing "patterns" and he's such a pro, can't he identify the patterns, and essentially predict their moves? Counter their obvious patterns?
such a weird hang up, in other peoples streams you get people in chat talking about music, tv shows etc... and the streamer focuses conversation on whatever topics are in chat
@@lc1429 Because Phil demands 100% obedience and control over every narrative. If he allows his wheelchairs to deviate for any length of time, they could collectively figure out that giving him money is a really dumb idea or they'll start talking about "detractor memes" or anything else that exposes Dave for who he really is. Gotta keep them in line so the only voice in the room is Philiam's.
@@ChinBuddha Oh, no, Phil will do exactly what's told in person because he's a coward. He'll just do it poorly, slowly, and incorrectly when he's not being watched because he thinks he knows better and will bitch endlessly about it the entire time to no one.
Remember the resolution to not be toxic in this game anymore? Holds about as much weight as all those years of insisting on being a "meaningful and positive" creator. Snort.
if you put your hand over an open flame, it will take 90-120ms to respond to the sensation of pain. 120 ms is nearly instant, phil complaining about 60ms being laggy is complete BS. its not slow at all, its faster than fast. be proactive, if you know this person is mashing jab, spamming, and completely predictable then be PROACTIVE not reactive.
Yea no if you know anything about fighting games it's obvious bullshit. It's like trying to claim you could consistently drain full court shots in basketball if only you could wear air jordans. Throws aren't designed to be reactable in SF6 and if someone could react to them it would make them far and away the best player in tJordan's. Not to mention the PC actually has marginally worse input delay than the ps5 on SF6 yet he keeps harping on how much of an advantage it is.
Exactly. Anyone who has ever played an online game can tell you having 100+ MS and nothing else will give you no difference than what DSP experiences because a MILLIONTH of a second is still astronomically small number and to even experience a decent amount of lag, you would need 500+ MS to begin seeing it. It truly speaks volumes for how DSP will reach for any excuse to pretend his bad playing is anything but his fault.
He complains 60 is too much, yet me playing Granblue Versus at 75ms feels smooth as fuck. Yet when he gets 30ms he says the game speeds up... he's just an idiot, and it's not an insult, just observation.
Umm his opponents were clearly utilizing random, entirely safe, jump and mash lag patterns that are entirely unbeatable. You obviously don't understand this game.
there's no way in this lifetime he would make it that far but I would love to see him fight primordial malzeno in monster hunter. he would be in tears.
I want Mike Clum to figure out why DSP never learned about losing as a child. The vast majority of people learned that losing is part of competition as children so by the time they are adults they can properly react to the situation, let alone by the time they are fucking 40! DSP still acts like 3 year old when he loses and I really want to find out why in the documentary.
That Cammy was following Angry Bird's Cammy Guide. One of the best players in the world who actually won EVO said to master the Counter Hit jab and hit confirm it into an optimized combo.
It's amazing how the people that beat him can simultaneously do ramdom jump-ins and grabs. That are unpredictable. Yet also be accused of using some sort of standard "pattern play". Are they being random or is it a pattern?
I just like that it took him a really *really* long time to figure out the Guile player was only ever coming in on a jump while DSP made no attempts to ever anti-air until the final match where DSP finally activates his one brain cell, AAs the Guile to death, then refuses to rematch him because he finally "won."
I watched that second Guiles ping and it never surpassed 40 ping. It stayed between 32-37 ping consistently. At this point saying lag is the reason he's losing is just an excuse for lack of skill for both offense and defense. 😅
Phil assumes that it's lag "dropping his input" but it's his constant mashing and sloppy play that's dropping inputs. I forget where I saw it, but there was a moment where Phil was in the training room in a previous Street Fighter and he could only do like 1 or 2 Shoryus from the P2 side and only about 7 or 8 from the P1 side. This is a former pro that can't manage to Shoryu consistently from *either* side and really drops the input from P2, mind. He just doesn't input anything accurately and expects the game to know what he wants it to do and execute it flawlessly.
0:10 Back with the "Hell's Kitchen" sound lmao. New Years Resolution failed miserably. Instead of attacking his opponent personally, he attacks chat and then goes right back into personally insulting his opponent; it's a two for one deal.
I love how he says he is glad Tekken 8 will be better, until he knows that Tekken 8 has rollback netcode and will get air juggled to oblivion and crawl back to SF 6. Edit : Also loving those mental gymnastics to help his "take" on his totally not toxic anymore resolution.
@@StardustCrusader18 Because rank is based on persistence/stubbornness, and if you know anything about DSP it's that he will use the same tactic over and over until it RNGs him a victory. All he has to do is keep playing and eventually he'll hit Master. If anything, DSP being at Master is proof the ranking system is meaningless.
@@ForeverLaxx Yeah, the ranking system is absolutely skewed towards getting the person further up to keep them playing more. FilI had during last Summer a session playing against a Chun-Li that was a few entire ranks below him, who absolutely kicked his ass several times in a row, yet he lost only a pittance of points in total. You absolutely can have a relatively low win/loss rate, yet eventually get to Master if you put enough time in. This is the reason why FilI used to just rank a character to max and then immediately switch to another one... it is at Master where the game just starts getting serious and this rank has its own ladder system as well to more objectively evaluate someone's skill. Of course, this is where it is seen the clearest what a very mediocre player (at best) FilIiam is.
I mean i don't really know how ads at livestreams work, since i never watch streams. Do you resume where you left of or will it skip forward for the amount of time the Ad needed? i assume its the latter, cause otherwise there would be a delay with stream Chat. But i don't really know.
A reminder that in less than 3 months, DSP will be 42 years old. This is all he can do, this is all there is to him. No hopes, no future, no career, nothing. Just pure hate and narcissism.
@@SM4SH3R I wish I could _almost_ pity him but I'm long past that point. He should get whatever he deserves. He loves to play stupid games, he should reap the stupid prize rewards.
In DSP's mind: Walk up throw = Pattern Jab = Pattern Drive Impact = Pattern Combos = Pattern Opponent winning = Pattern Somehow he sees all these patterns, yet can't stop them.
That he doesn't feel the urge, to smash his own face sometimes, is remarkable. He really just sounds like a broken record or jukebox. Maybe a little hit could fix that for a little while.
I love watching him squirm as he tries to balance: the docunentry, tips on his stream, Khet watching, and his true nature. It's like watching William Defoe in American Psycho
Anyone that plays anime fighters like DBFZ is already trained to react to dhalsims teleports and theyre more apt to toss out a jab to interrupt since a lot of anime games in my experience have tighter combos and blockstrings that need to be interrupted or you're just blocking most of the match.
how quick would someone get banned in his chat if they told him maybe he should watch videos on how to get out of the corner in SF6? because other players have no problem with it
I don't think Phil knows how little a millisecond is. It's a thousandth of a second. When a game is running at 60FPS and 66 milliseconds is 0.066 of a single second. Is so little of a single frame that if anyone claims to see a difference they're lying. I don't think the human eye can even see the difference. It was already pathetic how far he stretched the truth but to call 66MS a "crappy internet connection" is so far from reality he might as well be talking about unicorns.
How come everything that happens to Phil is luck? If he gets hit by footsies it’s mashing. If he gets hit by legit combos its “PATTERN! REEEEEEEE!” or also mashing. Does he want the other player to just stand there like a training dummy?
He broke the character of not being toxic the first day he made the commitment. Almost like when he told Fhet Khet that he wasn't going to play mobile games anymore.
10:20 "his connection is fluctuating, I couldn't do anything about it!" Meanwhile the solid 33-34 ms connection on the top with 0 noticable delay or rollback whatsoever
If I had serious money I would pay to have DSP play side by side with no lag against every player he said was a scrub and only won because of his connection. And you know what? Within a DAY he would have mentally retconned it.
I always love how DSP is the only player that has to deal with "uncounterable scrub tactics that no one can stop while auto-losing." I wonder how tournaments play out in a game like that.
So 60ms is "laggy" for one time evo champ on ps ST, yet "can't react to spin knuckle, can't stop it unless you know it's coming", a 28f move. He was punished by it cause he was using yoga arc too much and he doesn't even know that
Reminder that the Cannon brothers gave rollback netcode to Capcom for free. And the reason why Phil hates it is because they banned him from an internet forum 20 years ago. That, and its an excuse for bad gameplay
