Bravia Core also has DTS:X track. I tried it back and forth on Grand Trousimo and liked Atmos version more; but the Queen the DTS has heights and Atmos does not.

We haven't been able to get DTS:X out of Sony Pictures Core yet, on a new BRAVIA 7, but I believe this may be a work in progress. Only Dolby Atmos or DTS 5.1 options. Looking forward to being able to check out more DTS:X IMAX Enhanced tracks, beyond the MCU and Queen titles.

Not lossless and not in LG TVs (yet).

DTS:X on Disney+ is lossy (DTS:X Profile 2). LG TVs will be getting this feature some time this year according to our DTS contact.

Works on my A95L

That's good news. We had a few folks report issues with it on their A95L but we heard that they had been working on a fix. So you're getting DTS:X from the Disney+ stuff? Which receiver or soundbar system are you using?

@@ecoustics 77A95L eArc port back to Anthem MRX1140 (original 4k model) eArc port. Bravia Core I tested many months ago when GrandTourismo came out to A|B Atmos to DTS:X tracks.

Hopefully, it will be compatible with the NVIDIA SHIELD Pro

Unfortunately that isn't very likely. For it to work with the NVIDIA Pro streamer, NVIDIA would have to license DTS:X and deploy a DTS:X Profile 2 decoder. The Shield itself is surely powerful enough to do the decoding but they'd need to pay Xperi a licensing fee to do so and deliver the software decoder via an update. The current NVIDIA hardware does not decode DTS at all; it only supports DTS passthrough. DTS passthrough doesn't support DTS:X Profile 2 - that needs to be decoded directly on the source device. People have been asking for a new hardware version of the Shield for years. Maybe if they do deliver one, it will have DTS:X support? We hope so anyway.

@ecoustics Up until about 3 months ago, I was able to get IMAX Enhance/ DTS-X audio using the now defunct Privilege 4K app on the Nvidia Shield Pro. The display on my Marantz AV8805 would read IMAX/DTS-X. It was definitely a bump in the audio and bass on the movies I watched. Therefore, it is compatible.

NVIDIA Shield supports DTS:X passthrough, not DTS:X decoding. DTS:X Profile 2 (which is what's used on Disney+) doesn't have the concept of passthrough. It has to be decoded on the source device. And the Shield can't decode DTS:X Profile 2, so this won't work on the Shield unless NVIDIA licenses and deploys a DTS:X Profile 2 decoder. Which is very unlikely to happen since the device is already in market and has been for years.

@@ecoustics Thanks for clearing that up. Not fair that we have to purchase new devices if our current devices support IMAX enhanced natively

Annoying that there’s no streamer support right now. Most people with a large home theatre setup can’t access it. Yet most consumers with a TV who probably won’t benefit from it can 🤷‍♂️ (Appreciate there are some people out there with a TV / AVR combo who will benefit)

Agreed. But I guess they had to start somewhere. The Google TV platform is pretty well established and Sony, Hisense and TCL (plus Philips, Sharp and Xiaomi outside the US) all had DTS:X support on board and ready to go. Hopefully other Android based streaming devices like NVIDIA Shield will get it soon. LG is apparently going to get the new Disney+ app soon as many of their 2023 and 2024 TVs have DTS:X support as do many of their soundbars. In order for FireTV, Roku and Apple TV to get it, they'd need to add DTS:X support (with DTS:X Profile 2 decoding). DTS tells us that technically this can be done with software but the licensing issues (DTS logos on the packaging, for example) make it more likely that this will require new hardware.

I have a 2022 Sony Bravia OLED, will this have access to this?
@ecoustics
@ecoustics 3 месяца назад
@kilroy4103 we don’t think so. Your TV needs to have DTS:X Profile 2 decoding on board and from what we've heard from Sony, the first model to support this was the A95L OLED from 2023.

@@ecousticsthis is what I wanted to hear. I have an LG C3 77 inch and it supports DTS:X. Glad to see that LG will be onboard at some point this year.
