Finally, a chance to see Norma's second talkie and last film! I did like her in New York Nights, just as enjoyable as her silents. She spent months in voice training, only to find her popularity waning by then.

Talmadge was the undisputed Queen of Hollywood.

It’s weird that none of movies about Madame Du Berry reflect her appearance and personality that she possesses in real life - even though lots of her portraits, facts and descriptions by contemporaries are available…

I love Norma

She made her millions managed by her Mother Peg, and retired with grace.

It's a mystery to me why she would be cast as DuBarry. She's pretty but doesn't have magnetism or talent enough to play a beautiful seductress.

Talmadge is ludicrous. Her popularity remains one of the great mysteries of silent cinema. Talkies truly exposed her lack of acting ability.
