I have a huge Dua collection, and the best 10 that I would advise to try are - 1. Casino royale cotton candy nights 2. Hey sweetie ( perfect Oriana dupe) 3. Caramel Pomme delight 4. Caramel Brandy 5. Vanilliac dreams 6. Dua therapy ( and all the hybrids) 7. Cafe de Dua ( best realistic coffee scent ever) 8. Amberlisious cherry 9. Paris 1920 10. Princeless Princess
Your Dua list is a good one! I recently got Casino Royale Cotton Candy Night's and love it just giving it more time to marinade as I like to call it lol. Also, Hey sweetie really is a great dupe of Oriana🩷
Ive just discovered Dua and I'm obsessed. I only have 3 which are Butterbeer (def a winter scent), Caramel Delight which I love and The Conquerors Dungeon which is floral but good and a lovely surprise was mixing the last two together smells AMAZING!!! ❤
Yess!!!! I just recently discovered the original gourmand blends from DUA and OMG they are just amazing! Soooo addictive lol😂 Cotton Candy De Dua is my favorite ❤
Hey Carmen! 💖 I know what you mean about the similarities between Oh Baby and Kayali. I too enjoy the originals more than the clones. I didn't realize they had upgraded the boxes from those original cheap cardboard ones. Dark Chocolate Rum & Vanilla is 💣 🎉
The dark chocolate rum one gives me such problems. I only ordered a travel but something in it doesn’t work with me. Do they have other chocolate scents you like from them?
@Kara I heard their original, A Chocolate Affair, is nice but I haven't tried it myself. I don't have any other chocolate-focused fragrances from Dua. How about you, Carmen?
@@kara8911 I really want the Yacht one now too! I don't think I have other chocolate ones. I'm sure it's just gourmand coquin that's Challenging because I heard the original one is too.
Vanilla Cake & Lemon will get better. I bought it a few months ago to layer with BBW Iced Lemon Poundcake. I didn’t like it at first but then I tried it last week & its really nice.
Hey Carmen, I need to check out some of your favorites. I’ve been going crazy with my Dua purchases lately. I really like Oh Baby and Drowning in Vanilla, they are so good.
My very favorite is Angelic Choco Truffle. It's a mixture of Angel's Share and dark chocolate. Beyond fabulous! I come home and change clothes and I grab my shirt and bury my face in it. So good!
And now…. I need to buy a bottle of oh baby! It’s so good. The strawberry milkshake is what I expected oh baby to smell like. But, now I need both. Thank you so much for including those for me to try. Such a sweet package you made me! I love everything. That unicorn milkshake lasted all day on me. I got 2 compliments as well. I’m not on Instagram often but I’ll definitely get on to chat with you. Xo
For some reason, I hadn't thought of you having any Duas. However, it makes total sense that you mostly have the originals. I'm just the opposite -- I get the designer Duas so that I don't have to spend designer prices. And Dua has more niche designers than any other dupe house. They also do recreations of original designer fragrances, like for the original Hypnotic and Midnight Poisons. But I most appreciate their treatment of Guerlains. They have just the right touch; and I am very picky about "my" Guerlains:) I had bought several perfumes during their last sale and was going to do a "no-buy" from them for a while. But then they came out with two Andy Tauer fragrances and I succumbed...
They are my guilty pleasure. Those gourmand notes get me every time. But they are soo hit and miss for me. So I'm going to refrain from purchasing from them for now too!!
Unicorn milkshake was such a fail for me too:( I had such high hopes. I do really love all their brandy scents. Blackberry truffle cake is probably my fave, so decadent, yet somehow fresh and slightly green!
Your description of Carnival De Dua cracks me up. I have it and you are 100% on point. I also pick up a little maple in it. The carnival notes are in the backseat, and Chad and his overspray are very much in the front seat and my nose kind of wants to smell them separately if that makes sense-it won't let the two worlds combine, although both worlds are very nice. My bottle has only been macerating a couple weeks so I'm going to give it a couple more. I hope that, in the meantime, Chad and the carnival switch seats, and it will be perfect.
Omgggg I'm soooo glad you get it!! You're so right, the smells don't mesh well for now. Maybe after some time that will change. Chad did not need to overspray his cologne 😒 I also got a sharp syrup but I think it's the caramel? I hope it blends in better after some time. Maybe I'll keep ir around since it doesn't have white musk.
I just ordered my first Dua fragrance. It’s Desire Yacht. I’m hoping I get blueberries. Thanks for the video. I’m excited to get into this house but there’s so many that sound good. Too many choices. 😂
It's a beautiful one. One of my favorites. A perfect dupe of the original and identical to another extremely expensive perfume - One umbrella for two by Floraiku.
Thanks Mia, I’m so glad to hear that. I’ve been wanting to smell the original but it’s just so expensive and it’s not like you can test it in any stores lol. I’m so happy I finally ordered it. I know I’ll probably have to let it macerate but I’m still super excited. 🥳
i want to see someone compare the TOP duplicate brands, like Dua, vs Julianna vs ALT. I want to know who overally wins each round so i KNOW who to shop with...so stressful.
I'll tell you my opinion if that helps. I no longer buy from ALT. DUA has strong and projecting dupes but they use aromachemicals and also need to macerate before reaching their full potential. I don't mind the maceration time but I dislike the white musk and the IsoEsuper they use so I have to be very careful with them now. Juliana makes pretty nice dupes in my opinion. Their selection is smaller. They also smell better with time. Definitely a nice fragrance house! Oil Perfumery/ Oakcha is very accurate with their scent matching and the most affordable with the largest selection I think.
Heard you say too much white musk in the DUA gourmands, I honestly don't mind the white musk. I actually like white musk a lot. Strawberry Milkshake is one of my favorites.
I was just on the site looking at oh baby 😊 sounds like one I would love! ( I would never tell you no! If you smell something similar or similar vibe I definitely believe you! It happens to me all the time with the strangest perfumes 🤣
I have a dupe of Cry Baby from oakcha and so far it’s not a love. I agree it’s in the same family as the kayali. I get a bit of the love don’t be shy in it for sure too.
Thanks for your thoughts on these. I’ve never tried anything from Dua because everyone says their bottles are leaky. Maybe I’ll take a risk and just try one.😊
I actually haven't had any leak! Out of more than 20 that I've purchased so far! BUT these are very polarizing scents!!! None are safe Blind buys. Read my description for a bit more details.
Curious to see what Dua’s you have. I have only a few bottles and a few travel sizes. The one I dislike the most of a chocolate rum something and it’s pretty awful. Fortunately I got the travel size.
Oh man the one you adore the most of the dark chocolate rum one I cannot do. I think I get the vomit thing you mentioned quite a bit. I’ve been hanging on to it so we’ll see.
It's definitely vomit in the opening! That is not in my top 3 but I did say it's a good one! The real gourmand coquin one also has the same note from what I've heard. It's the chocolate. It's how white chocolate always smells specially concentrated. It can be challenging.
@@CarmenScentrix that makes sense. There are definitely perfumes that I maybe don’t want to wear much or the openings are challenging that are still beautiful.
Ouuu I need to try carnival and that raspberry jam donut like one for sure! And now I’m definitely curious to try their dupe for Lira since I have Lira on my wish list!
I actually love it. Kind of powdery and sweet. Not too Gourmand but very lovely. I almost didn't give it enough of a chance because I didnt love the smell from sniffing the atomizer. The lemon smells like lemon cleaner when sniffed that way BUT that's not how it smells when you wear it! I didn't have the same issue that I have with other DUAs that have too much white musk or aromachemicals. I definitely think it was worth it and a good one to check out if you enjoy lemon gourmands. Of course don't forget to let it macerate too!
@@CarmenScentrix Hey girl! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly 💛 That's great to hear! HoS Hufflepuff is my signature scent but I've been on the hunt for cheaper alternatives that I can burn through. I'll definitely add this one to the list 🙌 Other than Dua Puffletuft, would you recommend any others with the same scent profile?
I need to find a dupe house I like more. I got a couple from Oakcha and they are good (got a Lyra dupe after I ordered the 30 mil of the real one). I have my first Alexandria on their way (Nishane ani which I got a travel of the real one and am in love and Oud Satin Mood). I almost got the Dua Ani dupe but wasn’t sure and wanted to try Alexandria. Yes Angelic Elixir is beautiful!!!
@@CarmenScentrix I do that too. I have maybe 8 of their fragrances and they are amazing. It was my cheaper way to try some too and they’ve all been amazing.
Curious what ya think of your Alexanderia one. I got one from them in the mail it’s a lira dupe which is nice but it does not project at all and is gone from my skin I’m a couple hours 😩
@@fitfatbrittrny so far my Ani dupe from them is super light compared to the original which is really long lasting. The other I got (oud satin) is longer lasting. Hoping Ani gets better with time.
Yes I have bought about 60 or more & probably 8 have had that horrible chemical smell. I had to throw them away as maceration didn't help. You would think they would test their batches before sending out
@@derilyjoy I think they do that to make them super strong! A lot of middle eastern perfumes have that vibe or something like it. A lot of people are anosmic to that but not me, it ruins the whole thing for me. I'm starting to learn my lesson and I will only buy travel sizes now when I get really curious about a new one.
I think it's very sweet but would probably be okay on a man. I think it would be best layered with a more masculine one. I can see the combo being so sexy on a guy!
Another thing I hate about Dua is that you can’t just take a shower and the scent is gone and you have to wash your clothes multiple times to get the scent out. I like Oakcha much better
@@AbbeyLane721 I just got my first one from Oakcha and I know I like their oil perfumery dupes so I think I will like it. I'm really trying to stop buying duas as well. I think the worse ones for me were the ones that have white musk. I did not realize how that scent won't get better with maceration.
When you were talking about the lemon one and how it smells a bit like cleaner, I remember one time that I smell med Libre it smelled like Fabuloso to me. To be more specific the purple one, the lavender Fabuloso and it makes sense I guess because Libre does have Lavender.🪻
