Could I suggest you tie down your battery, the dirt roads out that way will vibrant the hell out of it and possibly jump it out of its cradle, like the videos watching the build very interesting. Happy Travels 🤗👍
Yeah thanks mate I reckon you’re probably right! It’s in a pretty tight space and with the timber board/cover over the top it would be hard to pop out of there but I guess better safe than sorry 😅👌🏻
@@TheBeatenTrak Problem is not "Popping out of there" rather the constant 2mm-10mm bouncing and vibration over potholes and corrugation will shudder the cells in the battery putting them at risk of Failure.
I've read in a lot of places it's not good to use the canopy and cab roof rails to mount the same piece of equipment to as the tub/canopy can flex if you go offroad which could cause damage to whatever is mounted to it
Have you had any issues with the DCDC charger, I have recently done a kings battery and hardkorr charger and the charging figures are wrong in the app compared to the actual figures when testing with multimeter, plus the other day I had an over charger warning come up on the app
Thanks for the reply, ol mate. I'm tempted by it that's for sure. I noticed the Redarc Core is similarly priced, so I'm gonna look into it too. @@TheBeatenTrak
Mate so far it’s been awesome. Since installing it I’ve tested it out by keeping my 60ltr fridge running non stop for a few weeks. Between the Hardkorr DC and my solar the battery has been kept fully charged. It’s unreal 👌🏻
oi oi oi, that aluminum bar should be isolated near the battery terminals and rubber boots shud be used..... and a thick rubber strap is needed as extra security to hold the bat down.
Can I ask what sort of ampage wire you used? I purchased and waiting on it. Just wondering if the cables are long enough for the ones supplied with the charger. Thanks neat setup 👌
@TheBeatenTrak I've ordered the 25amp version but we are still confused with what gauge to use aswell Edit - Allgood got the wiring all done just wondering if the dcdc charger is supposed to turn off when the car goes off or does it stay on for awhile?
The most useful item in this build is the milk crate at the start! 😂 Everyone makes the same mistake under rating the solar needs and using a crappy quality solar panel. If you get that correct you don't need all that dc-dc bs! And you won't be stuck out bush with a dead truck battery!
Appreciate your insightful comment there mate. However I can tell you that this system has been running my fridge nonstop for over 8 months now and it’s always fully charged 👊🏻
