Whats funny is how little people know that this guy does so much when it comes to the videos, sets, vibes and such with the band. Not just hitting the keg
So think about it like this. He is Auxiliary Percussion same as Fehn and Michael "Tortillia guy" as Root called him lol Anyway my point is if you take the keg out the song doesnt feel the same. The percussionists do alot of different things that play into your Psyche kind of. As Crahan said they have drums and things in places where they may not nescassarily be heard but they are there and make an impact on the energy. I also play a keg with a metal bat from time to time. Ill turn your ramen pot into a snare drum while youre still cooking lol
The most musically gifted member playing the most vital instrument of the band. Oh and he kicks other members out of the band too, what a great artist ❤
He's the founding member, and he is a great artist. He's just not as good of a drummer as Jordison was and has ridden the coattails of being the founding member since 95. He does most of the media stuff and music video stuff.
Right, not like they’re successful enough to have management and all that to do all of that, and completely avoiding the fact of how much he contributes to the band, and without him, there would be no slipknot
honestly, whoever's hating on Shawn knows nothing of Slipknot; every member of the band is equally important, it's what makes the band unique. I am not the die hard Slipknot fan by any means, but when it comes to the live shows you have to admit the band is one of the most artistic ones and the show they put up is a sight to behold

Well. Idk why but I feel likes it's probably not purposely lossing weight I think it's after loosing Joey. Even tho it's been only a year. I'm sure they still miss him dearly he was one of the greatest drummers

No bullshit, keeping time while playing like 1 note every few bars is surprisingly difficult, especially with the added showmanship to schedule in. Harder than it looks
After I saw Slipknot live I dreamed about the show for weeks, it was that incredible. I also couldn’t stop replaying it in my head all day for weeks as well. The absolute best show I’ve ever been to and I’m sure will ever be to. I can’t wait to see y’all live again 🖤🤘🖤
After having seen this live the first time, I have to always re enact him doing this whenever I hear this song. Only my BFF knows what I'm doing when I do this in public. Best live show since I was a teenager
i've seen slipknot a few times. one of my favourite bands. I was at the last concert that paul gray played at in australia. about 14/15 years ago. he never returned to australia. i pity you if you never saw the original 9. RIP @@ballistica9892
I heard this song when I was 23 for the first time ever in 2009. I couldn’t believe how long it took me to get to Slipknot. Amazing and theirs shows are some of the best.
It‘s amazing how he‘s the business man of the band and yet is still stuck at around 13 years old. While everyone gets pretty tired of his theatrics, it’s still important to remember, that he is most responsible for bringing the world this unique band.
Saw them in Dublin as a supporting act for someone years and years ago.. they had the entire crowd get down on one knee and started playing Corey screamed "jump" right at the drop and the entire place went berserk.. I was about 15ft from the keg... was the best concert I'd ever been to

Saw them this summer and even though Clown wasn't at the show because from what Corey said he was taking care of his wife, their show was SUCH an absolute banger, you could HEAR the kegs even though they weren't ... "handled" by Shawn or anyone. Truly an unforgettable moment for me... been a fan for almost my whole god damn life, ever since self-titled album to this day and this summer was my first time ever being able to see them. Truly an amazing experience and I cannot wait, for another round!
Michael Shawn is the co-founder and contributes to that band more than any other memeber. Helps write lyrics, organizes and designs the shows that come to life, and is responsible for a large percentage of the art correlated with the album releases.
These guys music is so powerful to the point i wanna get a band and get 9+ members with masks to make my own music. But some might say if u cant be them (bc on copyright reasons) then join em. Which might be hard bc at this point im in 9th grade lol.
no one gives a fuck he writes a fair amount of the lyrics and is just a fun guy sure he might "only hit a keg" to you but he does a lot more do you know how much it hurts hitting metal on metal at a lot of force
It seems people dont know what percussionist do in this comment section. Most of us train our whole lives on the drumkit, marching drums, marimba, etc... just for concert band to come around and you have to play the triangle for like 4 bars in a song. Doesnt mean we arent any worse at drumming than the next guy, its just something you have to do as a percussionist. To be able to play almost every obscure and random instrument CORRECTLY. And yes there is actual technique that goes into playing a triangle correctly, to get a perfect tone. Same thing would be applicable to the keg, as seen here.
A lot of people joking here but I have heard the song without the keg.... and it really makes a HUGE difference. Whether you have nothing or try to replace it with something from the drums, it just doesn't work
