I've been designing a new power tool battery operated work lamp. I've been testing some Made In China LED lamps... Some are good, some are TERRIBLE!! Hope this helps you if your looking into this type of thing!

I'm all for China cloning things and making then cheaper, but at least make the bloody things functional! Thanks for taking one for the team and showing us all what to look out for

Thanks, I made one a good few years ago that fitted to my old dewalt batteries, The LED cob came out of a failed Lidl's outside light, it was very roughly put together but worked great, I think I gave it away with all my old dewalt kit when I upgraded, Yours are looking factory made 👍

It should be a metal heatsink, looks like a 12v fitting. When testing use a cc variable power supply and do some Ohms law calculations. Never trust the specs.

So the LED lights are hit and miss, you don't know if they are good or not. I like LED flashlights that have a magnet/hook on the back. Some were good ones and some LEDs are failing with little use. Nothing consistent anymore, sigh.

Basically yes... the 18v battery peaks at 21volts and offers plenty of amps. The seller suggested their light works on 24v lorry (wagon) systems... but it sure doesn’t!!!
