Just scored 1 brand new in the box, £5 on a car boot. And found a 24v supply *cough* 50p. I'm going to get a pwm controller for speed. These little grinders are a must have alongside standard garage size grinders. This is 1 of them hidden gem mini tools, is it worth £35, If you already have a big grinder, yes, it's worth the addition, but not as a primary grinder purchase, there is also a hard wheel attachment to the arbour out the other side of the motor shaft.
I agree with Patrick that wood burning on the handle would make it more handmade than it is. But neat you owned the camp mascot to contribute to the knife. That sandpaper did better than I thought it would.
Still plenty of work to do shaping it ... I’ll get there at some point!! I’ll think about the possibility of doing some burning designs into the handle with a soldering iron to make it look more intricate... big hugs Karen!! Thanks for your input as always!!
Howard, spooky I was tempted by a similar Advert yesterday, for the size you gave it a serious workout, I’m sure there better quality belts you can buy, a fortuitous upload indeed 👍
Hi I was wondering if you can help me... (I cant get hold of the seller) I'm not that knowledgeable about electronics and im having a bit of a problem I got a 15mm version of this item to help repair hobbie tools. I understand that the item takes 12V to 24V but what I don't under stand is the AMP's required for the item for proper use. Would a 1amp supply be to under powered for proper use or would a 2amp or 3amp be more appropriate. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Could you wire in a potentiometer to add a veritable speed control? I suppose you could also purchase some regular glass paper belts and cut them into strips to use as replacement belts. That really is an awesome piece of kit!
The motor draws quite a bit of current so a pot would likely burn out... we would have to switch in some big wire wound resistor packs :-). Yeah... I’m planning to have a go at making some belts for it !!
