Thank you for these tutorials Martin! Your long ambient video taught me enough to record six pieces of music myself (had to convert to Reaper, I can't afford Ableton). Hopefully my next six tracks will be better but without your video I'd have never got up and running!
I just discovered your music. I play your albums from Spotify. I love many tracks from your catalogue but FAR BEYOND THE STARS is amazing. Love your music. Thank you.
Nice to hear that you're experimenting with Goa/Psytrance too. Keep doin' ya thing, greets & cheers from Duisburg! (Lifting up a glass of beer with o-juice and sparkling water)
Developing sounds slowly in a way that still sounds good is really kind of a dark art in many ways. Good job! I’d love to see a vid on those Diva presets btw.
Thank you for this tutorial. It is the first one isaw, which show the basics of arrangement. Most other videos point only until a 2bar loop sketch or review a final track with all this overwhelming stuff beside of the basic structure. Here i can follow the basics decision and why you did (how you did). I struggle realy with a clear arangement and feel this helps a lot. I´m waiting for the next tutorial. I like your Dub Techno Stuff a lot, please give me more 😁. Ambient is also nice, but there i get fast bored (depends on my self, after a while, i allways need a little bit Rythm and little stable repetitions). Ich habe dir ein 5er bei Paypal da gelassen, bitte mach so weiter! Grüße aus Südhessen
So insightful Martin, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!!! Amazing track, love the mood ❤ It’d be great to see if Push 3 sparks any new ideas (maybe MPE/Iridium could be interesting). Have you been using Drift?
Great video Martin. Have u used the analog rhythm, and if so did u use it in seperate channels, and then add effects in the DAW? Just trying to get my head around it as I’ve just got one. I’m sure I’ve seen a video ages ago with u using one, but I might be wrong 😊
Hi Martin love the video! I was following along nicely and then at 53:29 you moved those drums up to the 'Kick HP' and I became stuck :( When I select them and move them, ALL of the kicks move not just those 4. Is there some secret select key you are holding? Cheers!
Hi! I selected the four notes before I moved them. Just click and hold the left mouse button and select whatever you would like to move. I hope, I could solve your problem!
The end result was nice but it lacked enough life. It had soul and a little bit of heart, but not enough life in it. Needed more change ups within the bridges to have a fire. The overall mood was kind of military with a keep on moving on type vibe. There are thousands of dub techno songs with this vibe and they're all to boring and overdone to really respect. You have the core of the song, but you are functionally halfway done.
@@MartinStuertzer Haha...I think I get the reference in the brackets :) As for no sweetener...Interesting you can taste fruity hints without sweetening. Must have a more sensitive palette than I. Anyway...Looking forward to watching the stream. Thanks!
Don't be so strict music-theoretical a bit of dissonance is a chord can bring tension like when detuning oscillators, dubtechno likes a bit of tention, your theory gives you tunnel vision.. yeah with the Bflat... was fantastic imo made it creepy beautiful sound
I guess the whole point of this video is to advertise the Diva sounds, but it's still really funny to see a guy in a room full of synths - sitting in front of an analog synth that cost more than the computer - and then just using an 808 sample and 5 tracks of Diva.
I guess you are right about the advert, but who cares its about the creative process not about hardware or software....I really like the presets and bought them for future use....
I still think making tracks from scratch seated in front of costly hardware synths is still better than arrogantly commenting here OR scratching, twiddling knobs on someone else's track and pretending to have created it and taking credit for it.
I'm thinking of switching to Ableton because of the workflow compared to Reaper. I installed Lite and setup my VSTs. My main synth is NI Absynth but it doesn't appear as an instrument. I've set the correct plugin path but no joy. It means Ableton is a no no unless I can use Absynth. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate the help!
Update: Switched to Ableton and yes the workflow with Session View/Arrangement View is great but I'll be sticking with Reaper! It's bullet proof and all squeezed into 15mb.
If your computer never pushes into 80 while you are doing as much as you could possibly want, then you basically have nothing to worry about. Music production is very lightweight work compared to video gaming. It may be slightly more work than running a video at 1080p or higher still, depending on how much you really have going on, but not much more. You will know when you are doing too much of you crash. You will figure it out no problem. Just like any other work, save often. I like every 4 minutes, myself.
@@Nick1921945 I’ve only noticed a 40-60% CPU spike when dealing with all of the plugins I use and Ozone 10 on the master channel. There are times that the video is alittle slower then when first starting. But the audio is always on point. Have yet to crash. So maybe I’m good. I did get diva and it runs beautifully.
Music progression in a song (or everything) is pretty much:: Entrance, introduction, bridge /expression about what it is in the soul, symphony, outro, closing exit. If you nail these as handsomely as possible, you should have a masterpiece.
