After having a year's worth of rain dumped on the desert city, Dubai has begun its clean up as the flooding recedes. But passengers trapped at Dubai International Airport say they're running out of food. #Dubai #DubaiFloods #DubaiRain
We lived in a small one bedroom country cottage in Wales, back in 1960s it was near a river, that in summer time was like a stream, or little broke but in winter it would flood. We didn't have gas, electric or running water. Our home was surrounded by fruit trees, pears, plumbs, damsons and apples. Dad went hunting and fishing for our food. We picked berries and nuts from the hedge rows. We drank fresh spring water that gushed from mossy rocks. We did alright! I loved that home. These days if tourists miss a meal they think they are starving.
Ever notice no matter how devastating these tragedies are, no one,...... NOT ONE news media show video or talk about the poor people. Surely, they're suffering way more than the rich.
CLOUDING SEEDING! 🌧🌩I have just seen on the news that Dubai has a factory where they do cloud seeding, why isn't this not investigated further??? This is happening all over the World!!!!
LOL, Watching these rich foreigners trying to flee dubai is the funniest thing ever. This flood should really be an eye opening for the natives there. Foreigners love to spend their cash when the sun is shining and things are good. And as soon as "ish hit the fan" they are like: "I am out, byeeee"
People who does not believe in God,dont mind these happenings. They just do normally what they do. People who believe in God, this is karma what man has done at nature's expense.
@ stars in the sky , we do control the weather . Some countries use the technique of cloud seeding and the ancient Indians used to perform rain dances to bring on the annual rains .
I don’t understand why this reporter so happy about this news ? People there in trouble No so good time for them and she so happy about that and smiling and talking very happy
Really? On a scale that’s a pretty low problem. Poor didds had to go without a meal for a while 13 hours. Pathetic, pampered, entitled individuals that wouldn’t no what real hardship is. Neither do you apparently, fancy being outraged on their behalf, truly an extreme lack of insight on your part.
Think this is bad? Wait until the seven seals are opened, the seven trumpets are sounded and the seven bowls of wrath are poured out. But still, I pray for these people that they can get the needed supplies they need to survive. Not to eat and live extravagantly but just to exist is good enough, food and drinking water.
They need to apply permaculture principles to the land all around the region (see Bill Mollison and Geoff Lawton, Australia) and the Paani Foundation (Water Cup) in India - amazing what they did with their dry land. Won't stop the superstorms but would handle the water much better and put it where it is supposed to go, into the soil via permanent plant roots in the ground and down into the aquifer below (with tons of bonuses for people and wildlife). Similar for the UK - read Isabella Tree's book Wilding and see how the river that runs through their estate no longer floods the village downstream because of wilding and permaculture principles applied on the land upstream and allowing the river to meander naturally (and therefore store water in the soil) when it used to flood every winter. If the powers that be were wise, they'd start learning about permaculture asap and teaching their citizens to do it too.
Idaho, Montana, Denver and Northern Utah USA, suffered the worst winter snow storm in 1949 too. Maybe this will be the same jet stream for this winter in United States. We really need the rain and snow in my desert state so bring it on but vigilant and safe.
When people try to control the weather, the weather controls people. Don’t mess with God and Mother Nature. It’s a desert for a reason. Stop seeing rain clouds.
If this situation happens in PAKISTAN hundreds of pakistani will reach at airports with foods and other essentials things to help affected people this is our culture.
Are there other airlines that bypass Dubai. I’m looking to fly from Australia to Europe and don’t want to support emirates due to their lack of support for 🇵🇸
Cloud seeding is a type of weather modification that aims to change the amount or type of precipitation, mitigate hail or disperse fog. The usual objective is to increase rain or snow, either for its own sake or to prevent precipitation from occurring in days afterward.
He says, "We can't control the weather."........But then why are there patents approved stating certain entities are allowed to control the weather with HARP? Tesla's inventions are hard at work in my opinion 🤷🏽♀️
I don't understand when we see delivering even a sad news, people are smiling, laughing and having happy face while they are delivering the news! Any idea?
Now maybe they will understand what the people of Gaza are going through (which is much worse). These spoiled people still had the choice to buy food, while people of Gaza don’t.
Uma Fúria da Natureza desta magnitude parece enviada por uma força maligna !!!!Portanto este infeliz fato será vencido pela Força que construiu este Paraíso no deserto !!!!!
Sorry I fail to see how this is an shortcoming of Dubai? The rain fall was unprecedented and drainage or not that much rainfall is not going to pass without damage…. Stop being like this and become greatfull your alive… those are Noah building the ark rainfalls
In Dubai they were modifying the natural environment to build the city and I think this flood has to do with this!...the hand of man is to blame, it's just my humble opinion
A lesson taught by nature..don't try to alter nature by artificially inducing rain etc...and designed by European engineers/architects, which has led to a engineering failures in many aspects..turn to Asian specialist, who do planning based on practical scenarios
Perhaps now UAE will divert its funding war in Sudan and Lybia to rainproof infrastructure,! I arrived in Dubai the first time on April 25, 1981 and the day before there was a heavy monsoon storm!
Maybe they should think for a moment about the people of Gaza and the lack of food and maybe 13 hours without coffee won’t feel like such a big deal then.
Desalination comes at a tremendous environmental cost. Unlike Caribbean countries that can't afford it but always prepared for their storms. This is only the beginning for Dubai.
