As someone who grew up here then. This brought chills to my spine. Crazy to see the same things I saw (particularly DCC) as a 6 year old boy through the eyes of a 26 year old man today. The memories we have of dxb pre-boom seem so distant, yet close to the heart, after all these years.

This makes me emotional. I remember being around 5 years old around 2010 and 2011, the UAE felt at its best it wasn’t too crowded but it was still in a very good phase. I wish times like those would return…
Thanks for the nice comment. Yes, that's right. Now Dubai is not what it used to be. It's all too built up. There is almost no space left at the JBR but construction is still going on. The new harbor is also complete madness. You can't see the palm island anymore.
Another great time capsule video. Seeing how lively it was in the mall back in 2001. Is that Dubai Mall? I assume so. Those 2004 photos of the Marina are quite interesting too.
@@johnchakkour good to know. Lot's of video's of Present day Dubai, I like seeing the pre building explosion video's of Dubai. It's amazing to me on how much as changed.
All I ever wanted to do was stroll down these streets during these exact years when I lived there as a teenager, this video did that for me lol can even remember the smells and feel the peculiar evening weather, thanks for posting this.✌
