$260M is an error. This is going to cost billions, probably to have a passenger capacity of 260M when built out.

That airport would never happen because it was planned over 15 years ago and they only built a small terminal

@@theancientsancients1769 Incorrect, It will be built in the near-ish future. This is because Dubai does not YET receive enough tourists to overwhelm DXB. It is set to be constructed in the 2030's in sync/line with the further growth of tourism. There is not yet a need to have such a large airport. Later in this decade and going into the 2030's, Dubai will witness a boom in tourism and construction, In addition to the construction of 2-3 new lines for the Dubai Metro, New buildings such as the creek tower, the worlds largest clocktower and the worlds first 'hyper tower' will be constructed at around the same time DWC will be expanded. The small terminal you see is like Dubai's 'low cost' terminal. Many of the routes from DWC go to low traffic destinations. Essentially, It is just there to reduce the pressure on DXB, It will be demolished or converted in the near future. Besides, It's more of a cargo airport than a passenger airport.
