The better player won. No doubt Yamaguchi's fitness level was high as it was visible. On the other hand SIndhu totally unfit and used bad tactics to buy time. 37 times using the towel.The coach Gopi should be responsible to teach her sportsmanship qualities before teaching techniques of badminton. SIndhus attitude should change.

I agree it's annoying but it is well in the Badminton rulebook or else she would have been given a red card. It's easy to comment and it's kind of human nature when the brain starts playing games when the body is not responding. Yes, she should be working hard on her fitness and but you are too hard on her to call her "totally unfit". Just to make sure, I am not defending my fellow Indian player.. Sindhu should change her attitude so that she gets the respect.

Better player on that day..and was lucky too..But sindhu was having cold and she played brilliantly and expected it would be purposely unnoticed ..and sindhu prooved too strong for yamaguchi in every major events over the years...

Akane Yamaguchi 1.56 cm so tiny compared to Pusarla Sindhu 1.79 cm but Akane managed to win ! How that even possible?

PV Sindhu's delay tactics are actually helping her opponents. Of course YG does not need that but it was obvious that she benefited from it.

Congratulations to Akane Yamaguchi. Sindhu deserved her lost -- she showed bad attitudes (delay tactics) through out the match to daunt Akane but Akane did not budge ... even at the end of the match she did not shake hand with Akane first but her coach... bad sportsmanship desi... could learn from Lee Chong Wei

you guys cant even tell when a player is delaying deliberately and when she is doing it to muster the energy.. sindhu has done that in past doing it to intimidate the opponent. but here she was really tired and did not have energy for next point..

Akane deserved it. Sindhu never rises up to the big occasions to produce the goods and always falls short in the final moments. She is a good player but with many flaws in her game, she is a lot like LCW.

Sindhu was having some sort of cold...that is not an excuse here but she was little unlucky at the end..that's why she lost..its not like she was outplayed by her opponent here ...akane played very well too.
