"They call me saucy Tony... I'm a sanga...i also play guitar" where I'm from... when that intro comes on... EVERYBODY from my generation knows what time it is... word for word
Dubee's debut is one of the greatest albums ever made. It was the perfect amalgamation of Dubee being fresh as hell and hungry mixed with some of Khayree's best production and the push from Atlantic. I'd love to hear him work with Khayree again but I'm on board for anything he does
Facts!! In fact khayree stable. All made classic 1st albums , YBB Mac Dre, illegal business Mac Mall, suga wolf pimp Dubee, young lay black n dangerous, ray Luv Forever hustlin
@bigcav925 those 5 albums were one of the dopest runs from a label ever. Alot of that is Khayree cause if u think of it none of them made a better album then what they did on YBB. At least imo
💥💯💯 This interview was needed for the folks who got Luv for all these brothas. Thizz started a movement that is still WORLDWIDE PLAYA GAME! THANK YOU SUGA WOLF…. You one of dem💥💯💯
First time listening to Dubee in an interview. Loved his music growing up. This interview was entertaining and he remind me of one of the older homies, soaked with game, gangsta, and funny as hell.
27:15 re: " family oriented " reminds me of this time , when " stupid doo doo dumb had just came out, i called the phone number inside , to give props to whoever answered , and im not sure who it was , but the call went like this.. " uhh , hi, hello , is mac dre there? " . " Naah , dre aint here, but this is his mamas house number , ill give him whatever message youd like though " " ok, tell him this new records is dope, and tell him to keep up the good work!" " Aight , bet, thats it? " " Thats it" "have a good one"
DREGS THANKYOU. Finally someone sits down and asks the questions we wanna hear and has the KNOWLEDGE to keep this podcast goin. Top Tier, Shoutout Dubee the most underrated rapper out the bay.
Khayree being on Atlantic got Young Lay , Mac Mall , Ray Luv on the New Jersey Drive soundtrack ALL ABOUT MY FETTI... on Mac Mall first album Illegal Business PAC directed the video to GETTO THEME and Ray Luv song Last Night
I want to La for the first time in 2003. I went down with a buddy who lived there and was up in Northern California for a bit. I was cruising with his buddies and I said put on some Mac Dre or some Nickatina, they looked at me and said who's that? So I introduced them to this music and they loved it. I tried to explain thizz, so we all took X. I showed them how we dance... Was hella fun, what an era..
It was an honor for me to work with Dubee back in 2001 on the track “Heave Ho” for one of Smoov-e’s early albums. Even got a chance to meet Dubee and smoke a blunt with him, we hot boxed Smoov-e’s whip and got high af. Dubee was super cool to chill with, super positive, high energy, crankin’ jokes, tellin’ stories and just having fun in the studio while bringing straight heat on the mic. For real, Dubee’s chorus and verse on Heave Ho kills it. I only wish I had a more powerful drum machine and synth at the time, the beat slaps but the sounds are not that high quality. I also got a chance to make beats and work with Reek Daddy back in the day, in particular the album Wreak Havoc. That was an experience. There’s some dope tracks on there. I fully agree with folks on here saying that Dubee’s debut album with Khyree is one of the most classic and best albums in the history of the Bay. Much love and respect to Dubee and the Crest for putting out such amazing music! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8G2H15_uVE0.htmlsi=a9MTkbxJ6Lwyhq9r
This whole interview gave me hella memories of livin in the V. Thanks Dregs and the team...and big shout out to Dube for the nostalgia. Not gonna lie, Dubee was one of the hardest pitchers to hit a ball off when he was on Kappa. I was lucky enough to get a double off him, but he won't remember that 😆 #CimmaronHills #NorthVallejo #FosterLumber #NorthVallejoLittleLeague #Thizz4Life
Dubee & Mall need to do another cutthoat committee album just them 2 or maybe add Duna to the group to replace ol boy to keep the legacy alive. Much love from Dago
Much love to Dubee, my Grandfather moved my Aunts and Uncles from Southwest Louisiana in the 60's to the Richmond, their last names are Pete/Pitre. Even though im from Louisiana, I got alot of love for the bay area. My first tape I ever bought was Too Short Born to Mack in 1987💯🤞🏾
“Microwave, tryna make a b*tch slave, and on a microphone I leave a trick in a daze” Sugawolf pimp STAYS on my playlist 💯 good interview, thank you. 707 Santa Rosa
Couldn’t have said it better. Dubee’s lyrics, flow and delivery do not get talked about enough or the praise it deserves! Verbal ASSASSIN… COLD ON THE MIC and uniquely his own style
I want to see Don Cisco on the show to. He had songs on the radio and all that. OH BOY ALBUM was crazy. Apart of Latino Velvet the biggest Chicano group out the Bay Area. Baby Bash and Jay Tee to. Of course Miami the most. Miami and Don Cisco cooking up some new records right now. Dubee one of the illest to spit out the Bay. He kept Realer than Real.
Dre had some beast behind him from the crest. Dubee right behind Dre to me his style dope af I wish he dropped more stuff. The crest creepers all of them were dope af If 40 and Dre linked up when they were older and did albums the bay would of been straight on fire.
It doesn’t get anymore Crestside than Dubee first album. Never been to Crestside a day in my life but that album made me feel like I lived there before😂
@@samuelmartinez3201 I know that but I’m saying in this day and age of the Internet and I’m sure his fam knows people within the Thizz camp. You would think that you’d hear something about him.
Great interview 👏 Next time you get him back on there perhaps discuss his relationship with J-Diggs, Mistah FAB and other new age Thizz artists. Also touch more on the Mall and Dre differences and the E-40 & Dre relationship.
We just had Locksmith two episodes ago. Before that Silk-E, Erk Tha Jerk, and Mack Magic Mike. We got hella Richmond episodes and you sleepin on em smh
Have you noticed you've never seen j diggs and dubee do anything together? I've always wondered? Never in the same video or same songs or no albums together
I’ve watched every episode of THOTB. This is number 1 for me. This was dope. Shout out Dubee shout out Dregs. From yo Excelsior District Family. RIP Mac D R E 🤘😎🤘
Man Dubee always been Solid💯 Sugar Wolf Pimp I always thought he had the Tightest names ever lol Fr Fr I really believe that you know people have to look and see how all these great artists from the ground up from Nothin to Somethin that's why I always Respect most of all the Bay area rappers One Love💯
