Now, this was “music.” No fake electronic background. Pure voice compilations. DO OP will go down as a classic period of American music. I’ve actually heard young people listening to these classics.
I agree with you Cynthia - songs like this when a guy had a chance to have his girl up close and moving so romantically together - wow - that was the best!
Went to DooWop show at Radio City Music Hall in Oct of 1987....opening number was this song, performed by the Reminisents.....blew my mind that night, and I will never forget how well it was covered......definitely set up the rest of the evening of pure enjoyment, watching all the Groups in that show......lifetime memory.
OH, Man. Why did this music ever go away? I never see young people dancing slow anymore. What ever happened? I can only imagine to cruising in my '57 Chevy with the top down and my girl sitting next to me with so much hairspray on that I was worried about breaking her hair when I touched it.
TRUE... the guys is looking good here. These gentlemen are looking good (repeated for the hearing-impaired). May they, and we, all give ourselves a pat on the backs… this was (is, will always be) the pinnacle of vocal music (any way you wanna slice )!!!!!!
I mostly love listening to and watching videos of Do Wop , Elvis Presley , Dean Martin , Everly Brothers , Joni James and Connie Francis . This right here is flawless harmony . Great !
EARTH ANGEL😇 GENTLEMEN, you are still the GREATEST!!! YOUR hit, “ COULD THIS BE MAGIC”, will live in my heart ❤️ forever!!!💜💕💋👍😍 Thank You for such great music!
"Chapel of Dreams" and "Don't Ask Me to Be Lonely" are what The Dubs were and are about ... their "Could This Be Magic" was good but no comparison to the aforesaid two tunes.
God Bless Them. I thank God for the beautiful voices, lyrics and music. We were truly blessed with the best music ever. This wonderful group Is a testament of a great era.
You said it well, Nancy. How lucky we are to have lived with this awesome music. We are truly a blessed generation. This is absolutely my VERY favorite of ALL 50's music and as a DJ I have played and listened to and enjoyed all of them.
OMG!!!! They sound so-ooooo good all these years after the fact! Every part - lead vocals - harmony equally strong as the lead vocals. LOVE IT!!!! Every ONE in the entire group can SING!
Number one, you need hearing aids if you heard what you say you heard. Number two, Leslie Anderson has been the lead voice of the Cleveland Stills Dubs since the 1990's after original lead voice, Richie Blandon, died in 1991. Number three, after you get hearing aids then go to your primary care doctor to get a referral to see a shrink ... after all of this you should be fine.
