I would call it darkstep. It's not an official genre really but a lot of stuff is described as such.

Well that's true, but I guess these informal terms are just thrown around since Dubstep is a lot bigger now and more styles are being introduced than say, 6 or 7 years ago.

lol, no i'm not 13. Future Garage is related to dubstep, it basically evolved from dubstep but had strong influences from the classic garage production style. You're right, dadstep doesn't really exist, literally i've just heard the term mentioned in a few places, since people who were against 'brostep' adopted the phrase 'dadstep' to support the really old and classic sounds. Dubstep did come from Garage, but FG inherits more from Dubstep, the link is still there though.

The drum beat you mentioned is a classic 2step beat, one of the two genres that created dbstep. Listen to some, it really isnt dissimilar to dubstep and it is basically early FG. Get your facts straight

get it straight the name for dark hard and heavy techy style of drum and bass is and has always been reffed to as darkside drum n bass not 'darkstep' future garage is another pretentious genre name that existed to describe before people started using it to try and describe dubstep that used 2 step beat pattern like traditional garage, particularly down tempo productions style such as Burials.
