Few could’ve predicted Ducati’s move to produce a whopping single-cylinder supermoto, but having put the much hyped Hypermotard 698 Mono through its paces in Spain, we’re super glad that they rolled those dice. Here’s our take on it… 🏍️ 🏍️ 🏍️

It’s not Ducati’s first single cylinder bike, it’s just been awhile

Yeah, that's what I was gonna say. In fact, Ducati were the ones who claimed to have the first "ton up two fifty". The fact that they only managed to get the ton by loading their ton up bike with a load of light weight and track bits really wasn't relevant. To be clear, Ducati were founded on single cylinder bikes. It was the V (or, according to them, L) twins which allowed them to survive when so many others fell under the weight of Japanese competition.

I just went out to the garage and checked that my 450RT desmo single still said DUCATI on the tank……😂

Why mention it? It’s dated and a dinosaur compared to the Ducati.

@@BrewsAndBraaps I would mention it because it is the closest competitor, is within a few horsepower, has a bit more torque, and weighs about the same. Just because the tech package isn't the same doesn't mean it's not competitive.

But is it a good bike for a novice, wanting to change up from a drz400sm, basic riding skills, on and off road, with dual sport, and touring bikes, ranging from 25bhp to 136 bhp.

Didn even know fried brakes still existed. Perhaps I'm not longer the target demographic given these blokes are unaware of previous Ducati single cylinder bikes. RIP Fast Ronnie etc.

2:08 Ducati keeps claiming that, but technically the Honda CB300R revs to 10,500 RPM. They're not in the same league and even for a small displacement single Honda's 286cc engine is honestly a bit of a turd, but technically it's a single cylinder engine that revs higher than the Ducati.

its not the highest rev on the market @ 10k rpm, here u can easily buy 150cc 4t engine with 11,5k rpm, even u bought 2t it'll be 13-15k rpm limit🤣

The whole point of the Ducati hyperstrada was 2 cylinders. This is just boring. Why not get a ktm if you want a bike that’s guaranteed to break down?

My honda xr 650 is faster than that ducati and it's a super moto and a lot more fun my point is that ducati is like a moto crosser no top end its slow, end off so you get very bored very quickly I no this because I have had this experience people want power not this little tiny single cyclinder it's no fun unless your a very slow rider
@Hawk_Ryder
@Hawk_Ryder 4 месяца назад
@@markjenkins4882 that’s not a proper one on one comparison. You would have to put it up against the 950 SP to even be in the same ballpark. Easy to talk down when you’ve got such a massive gap in engine size.
