Be wary about doing the gauze filter as the bottom plate is cast and very very easy to break trying to pry it off do that and your in a whole world of pain besides it only has to be done every 12,000 Klm better to have the Ducati dealer do it whilst they do the belts and timing etc peace of mind stuff. You may want to mention taking the filler plug out so the oil drains faster. My V4 Duke takes 2 hours to drain down before rechecking the level as recommended by Ducati themselves I know this because I helped do the 1000klm first service on it today, those fairings you need to be an contortionist octopus to refit! Good vid bloke hopefully you still have your 848 I am changing the oil in my 2009 848 shortly.
how much costs per year maintain for this bike ? without oil and filter how did you find it riding in rain ? the bike have some problems in rain ? like problems with switches , oi noize like switches works or speedo errors ? what problems did you see in rain ? thanks
Eternal Summer cost of maintenance per year is all relative to how much you ride the bike. If you’re putting on a lot of miles every year, it’s going to cost you more because you’ll be doing maintenance more often. Also depends if you do the work yourself or taking it to a shop. And I never, ever, ride my bike in the rain. I have a car, so I drive the car in poor weather. Check out this video of the 7500 mile service I had done; should give you an idea on how much the maintenance is. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BuzOPHmX1Xc.html
Eternal Summer well, like I said before, I never ride in the rain so I couldn’t tell you. And is that 5000 kilometers or miles? Because there’s a big difference.
Eternal Summer okay. Well the video I posted in my above comments breaks down the 7500 mile service and how much it cost. So look at that, and that’ll give you an idea on how much it’ll cost.
True. It was a little hard to work with the camera and to crack open the quart of oil to lube the filter. Since the oil isn't going back into the bike (just the edge of the filter), it won't hurt it to use the old stuff.
