Very cool design! I love the pattern on the front vent alot. It's wild to me that it's 3D printed.

Which filament are you using to print this parts? Since they are going to be the real deal, i guess you can finish them with a epoxy coat, primer and paint. its going to be extra-awesome. I love the design of the front vent.

that, or he can use the 3D printed parts as a molding, using silicone. and then casting the part he gonna install on the bike with resin. a lot of work to do but gonna be durable.

They’re PLA

@@forthebold i guess some acetone smoothing would do it

I believe that only works with ABS unfortunately.

The design is sick, but, i doubt the vents could last more than a ride. Filaments tend to warp quite easely and during summer they could even fall
@forthebold
@forthebold 2 года назад
Luckily our summer gets no warmer than 24 degrees 🤣
@combinbain

@@forthebold well, that's defenitely different from the 45 degrees we get down here 😀. In my case I would give a try to abs filament with fiber carbon shreds in it.

Fascinating process and a great end result. Out of curiosity, how long did those two pieces take to print in real time?
@forthebold
@forthebold 2 года назад
Thanks. The main one took 5 days and the smaller 2 each side about 16 hours each
