Maybe so. However, I've seen guys on 1290 KTM Adv bikes absolutely ripping corners and doing high speeds on tarmac with those tires. I think it's just a matter of learning their behavior and getting to know the limits, which are much higher than one might think. The TKC tires have pretty soft rubber so they won't last forever on pavement. But offroad it's hard to beat.
