Ducati SD 500 parallel twin - better than their reputation? 

I have one of these beauties. I bought brand new 43 years ago most problems have been gearbox!

I surely haven’t forgotten them. Of course the Pantah was the better machine ( I own one) but I still love the parallel twin Desmo’s designs. An early Pantah factory prototype was actually ridden with a red twin tank and seat. It looked like a lightweight Darmah. Jummy!! If only Ducati had put it in production that way. I once saw a yellow 350 SD at Dutch motorcycle jumble. I should have asked for the price but didn’t dare. But even Ducati itself wants to forget them. They aren’t even mentioned or shown in the beautiful factory museum bible.
