The Duchess of Kent arrives at Fort Dunlop and receives a bouquet from Miss Gladys Miller. Then she sees the pigeon post inaugurated, and drives through the ranks of a territorial guard of honour. After lunch she makes a speech and opens the new Airport. (New Birmingham Airport) Speech by Duchess: "I have just had the pleasure of inspecting this magnificent new airport and I would like to congratulate you and all those concerned in the building of it on your enterprise and foresight. I now have much pleasure in declaring the airport of Birmingham open and in wishing it and all those associated with it every success."
