Cops do pick and choose their battles. A lot of cops don't even bother chasing crotch rockets for this reason. It's basically pointless, like chasing a GTR with close to a grand in horses under the hood. Of course, you have to be careful because in some areas, the cops have some pretty fast chase cars specifically made to chase fast cars that run. Some areas they even use confiscated fast cars to either lure out the street racers to catch them in a race or to simply give chase to radio in the location of the one running.

That's what they're paid to do. All they need is the car's plate and the driver will be found.

Plus the GTR is all whell drive which helps a lot and its a much more refined machine. every little bit helps, horsepower really isnt everything
