Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm reading through it right now - there is no way of playing this without the sostenuto pedal. I have never played anything with sostenuto, but this arrangement is a great practice for it.
I used to play piano on music school ages ago. If memory still serves me right, slurred notes are notes where you stop playing the note instants after you play the previous one, instead of instants before. It is easier done than said, now that I think about it. I can play it, but can't explain it.
I wrote a military band arrangement from this piano score and put it on youtube. When I see the piano score on here,I wonder how I achieved this band arrangement. The only time I heard a military band play the orchestral version was the Edinburgh Tattoo played by the Gaurds.
@@0live0wire0 Do you realize that you're enforcing my point? Apply it to the key signature instead of relying on accidentals... that's the whole point of key signatures, to clean it up and make it easier on the one writing the music out.

@@Richard_Nickerson Because John Williams wrote it like that. Was that too hard to grasp? If you want to bitch about it, take that up to Mr. Williams. The sheets in this video are simply written in E Minor because the actual score was.
