He's outta line...but he's right but yeah when I fought her I also thought...Shit why is she more powerful than Khotun Khan but anyway I am happy to get a new challenging fight
@@kratos57 sucker punch learned alot after the game so they knew that boss fights in the game a too easy so they made the Eagle harder. Ghost of tsushima sequel might fix all problems that iki expansion and the game had.
Trained under a samurai, you know? Under some cushy jito Try the butcher of Iki. Coulda gone pro if the raiders didn't kill him. I could break Khotun Khan in two WITH MY BARE HANDS. Don't fuck with this ghost.
When Jin fights off the poison, gets his second wind, and the ghost theme started to blast out of my TV speakers I KNEW I couldn't lose. I HAD to beat The Eagle on my first try. Unfortunately, I was on Hard+ and it took me three tries instead lol. 😕
@@AlguienCualquieraDelMundo Honestly, this is another thing Sucker Punch did right! You could wear any armor set during any of the duels, and it'll still feel right!
Nah man, you tripping. I too fought with ghost armor, but not because it was “the best option”, but because it’s my favorite out of all the options (kinda looks like what warrior wore during the Sengoku Jidai). If I were to fight with something more fitting to the story it would have to be the Sakai armor, considering it was forbidden for the entire journey until you reach the last mission were everyone knows Jin is a Sakai.
“Let the Shimuras of the world keep records and manage councils.. We are the lightning in the storm... The avalanche that topples a mountain. That is Clan Sakai.”
I like how the sinister repetitive melody, which represents The Eagle's theme was dominant throughout the song, showing that her hallucination drug was still dominant over Jin's mind and still trying to break his mental wellbeing. But as the song starts shifting to 2:32, Jin's triumphant theme starts to kick it, showing that The Eagle's hallucination drug was losing it's effect on him as he begun to finally let go of his past and move on from the guilt. It then shifts back to The Eagle's theme, since while Jin has defeated his inner demons, he still has to defeat her.
I love how the Ghost theme emerges in a glorious rendition in this fight to give a second wind, but the reality and intensity of the fight is kept with how it’s mixed with the Eagle’s theme continuing to appear. Jin has won the battle within his mind, but his physical body still has a opponent to fight.
This is the one piece of music in this game that really stuck out to me like no other, all of it is superb but something went into this song with the setup, scenery, and story that just made it a masterpiece of a scene
It also beautifully captures Jin’s personal victory. He has finally forgiven himself. He is finally free of the shame and grief that burdened him throughout his life.
SPOILER ALERT : what i love about this particular DLC, is that when JIN gets captured, he tells the EAGLE the that Khotun Khan is dead, it happens if you go the island before killing khotun khan too, so in two cases, he's either telling the truth ( going to the island after beating Khan ) or bluffing, and that is just amazing.
@@imperialguardsman5726 the khan and taka is dead. Clearly it's after also I remember that this campaign is available in act 2 before taka died. I played the first mission accidentally.
My favorite part is how when Jin holds up the Sakai blade, ready to strike down past Tenzo in his vision, and then he refuses (music stops), and comes to terms that he isn't at fault for his Father's death. Then it picks up again as he walks out of the vision, and stops the eagle from killing Tenzo, and the music picks up again. Truly amazing.
I kid you not when I say it felt like I was fighting my own demons in this boss fight. From the cutscenes where Jin learns to let go of the past to his comeback now feeling clear and free from all that's been holding him back. The passion was really felt as in my mind I yelled, "COME ON! YOU WANTED THIS DIDN'T YOU?!" like I was immersed in the story. No tears were shown but deep down I wanted to let all of my bottled up emotions out; I'm at a point in my life where I want to give myself that kind of redemption from the past, make amends and truly forgive myself for the things I did and couldn't do. It's games like these that make me appreciate them for their well driven storytelling and music. I'm lost for words as to how these guys nail it out of the park!
@@mmmmmmm3246 wouldn't say controlling although you're not wrong. It feels more like fitting in someone else's shoes and being in synch with em. You follow a journey and you start understanding their ambitions, goals, who they love etc. This moment was a culmination of the loss he delt with for so long, and it hits hard.
I always wait until I've finished the main story to do Iki, because I feel like that fits. After Jin has secured Tsushimas future, now he must confront his past
After recently finishing the entirety of Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, from Tsushima to Iki Island, facing The Eagle after Jin realized he didn't have to follow alongside Kazumasa's ghost gave me adrenaline I didn't have time to ponder over. Once this soundtrack played as he saved Tenzo, it made me shakey, vulnerable, and brave to even think about continuing the battle with The Eagle. I love this game simply for its complex yet worthy story, its stunning and beautiful art design, and best of all, the soundtracks the music directors created for each situation that Jin came across. I'm really excited to play SIFU next after this.
No lie, I started yelling at my tv and saying things like “YOU WERE ACTING SO TOUGH EARLIER WHERE’D IT GO HUH?!” Cause it was so freeing and nice especially after dying on this duel about 5 or so times. Such an amazing dlc villain for such an amazing game!
I chose Ronin suit for the final battle. Not only it buffs significant damage, but my Jin is neither a samurai nor Sakai's heir. Jin is his own man in his way
I fought the Eagle wearing fully upgraded white Sakai clan armor, so it was as if Kazumasa Sakai himself had walked down from the heavens to kill the Eagle himself
i felt this dlc fits better in the middle of the story, the scene where he hallucinated about his father could have been where jin really throws away his honor and became the ghost.
This was the epitome of Jin’s story. All of his journey in the main story led to this moment. Him finally letting go of his guilt for not being able to save his father. And then him finally emerging anew as The Ghost, the sun rising on a new Lord Sakai, just like the actual sun rising above the horizons. Paired with the Ghost’s theme, but this time in a more heroic form and less melancholic tone in contrast to the main story’s more melancholic version of the theme. God I love this game. Ik people are divided on the fact that Jin isn’t the main character of the next Ghost anthology game but frankly, this was a beautiful pinnacle for his character arc.
When this soundtrack played, I got so much resolve that the eagle couldn’t land a hit on me and I finished her with a heavenly strike and it was the most badass way to finish this duel
Easily one of my favourite arenas & soundtracks, and the transition to the cutscene of forgiveness followed by Jin saving Tenzo is just so good! Even the environment of the arena is absolutely gorgeous. A little hard, but wasn’t too totally frustrating as a boss; she’s like a female Khotun Khan with a slightly easier moveset. She kinda overwhelmed me with attacks I wasn’t familiar with, but the Eagle’s still pretty awesome.
"the way you live was not my choice, your death was not my fault" cue music oh, Jin has 3 stacks of resolves left. no problem, i got unlimited resolve in my heart.
One day, Jin will indeed face the judgement of his ancestors But who are they to judge him? They’re not gods What are his ancestors, the spirits of those who have long since passed on To a Ghost
Bro they made a simple dlc so perfect! The story, the drama, everything! Even tho the dlc was really easy to beat (except for the eagle boss in my opinion), i still had so much fun on this. Can't wait for the sequel if they make one
When I first took on this boss I was wearing sarugami armor and for some reason it was incredibly tough to fight the eagle, I decided to change up the strat and put on the lord of night Sakai armor and for some reason I dominated her in my first try (I was on Lethal+) It felt so satisfying
@@ntfoperative9432 on god bro, I legit felt the power of the Sakai ancestry and my PS4 was at a smooth 60fps, such an experience I can’t find anywhere else
I uploaded a video long ago. I titled it,”Ghost Of Tsushima Jin Sakai Bullying The Eagle”. I deleted it. Because maybe it would offend some snowflakes 😂
Hey Jen, love your content. Have you by any chance got the legends torill gate theme that plays when u complete a story mission. Somone posted it long back but took it down
@@PhasmaOfTsushimai guess a second game would be cool but i mean i feel like they dont really have a story to continue. The next thing that happens is that the mongolians invade the mainland of japan and get demolished so i feel like jin doesnt really have anything to do unless they wanna do some major rewrites to real history
What makes this boss so fuxkin hard is the block/parry button decides to either lag or not work at all.... i checked too...any other boss fight i do, any other enemy, and i can dam near perfect parry... But this shit is hit or miss, missing 3/5 times...i know im not the only one that got frustrated when my bloxk "wasnt working" like normal Add the fact shes moving at the speed of fast...and you find yourself getting clapped by a bird bitch with 1 good eye
I remember after coming to the boss accepting my fathers death was not my fault. (I was wearing red fully upgraded Sakai armour.) I took off my helmet and mask. And screamed at the top of my lungs “I will not face you as a samurai but as JIN SAKAI !”
On the first phase i got beaten and tossed over like 20 times or even more But the moment this started playing on the second phase i was so motivated i barely got hit, like i somehow knew i couldnt lose that duel, no matter what
I like to use this and BOTW Dark Beast Ganon as prime examples of how powerful music really is in emotional mediums like this. When Jin’s theme collides with the Eagle’s it’s SO EXTREMELY motivating that it feels nearly impossible to lose. You really feel connected to Jin in that moment, when he regains his strength to fight back so do you. I remember the second half of the battle and hearing his theme just freaking OBLITERATE my speakers and just getting a RUSH 🙌🏽🙌🏽.
I feel like that with Sacrifice of Tradition. Jin's identity is now only the Ghost, and so the Ghost theme is contrasted with Shimura's theme which has become hostile and evil, and then makes you wonder who is the enemy here in the first place and then I die inside... *meta*
