Duela Dent Origins - This Disturbing Joker's Daughter Is Obsessed With Stealing People's Identity! 

I always felt bad for her like she just refuses to see how obsessed she is with a psycho I was hoping Red Hood would be able to snap out of it. I do love it when she met Harley Quinn and Harley was immediately trying to beat some sense into her.

Duela Dent just seems like a mixed bag in every sense of the word/saying given her history in DC Comics as a whole

I think Duela needs a rewrite. The cool origin story is that she actually is Joker's daughter from the anti-matter universe. It's in the Countdown series. I like her as a Batmite like character.

honestly i love her pre crisis version better than her recent version. i love the aspect of her trying to prove to everyone she's not just as evil as her father, harvey dent and being a hero. i actually talk to original creator of duela dent and he's says he would love to write more about duela and his other characters he created but dc comics ain't interested I guess.

Hang on.... if she's Joker's Daughter, why is her last name "Dent"? That's Two-Face's original name... Harvy Dent.

I’m surprised no backlash over praising Batwoman, lol! The video was great and informative.

The writers kept changing up--it's quite impossible, for example, that the pretty young woman we see Dick Grayson inform he knows she's Two-Face's daughter is actually middle-aged. The New 52 character is basically a very misogynist take on her, and it's hard to see the point of her at all. She's terrible in Batwoman, but Batwoman was a terrible show. The only version of this character that works for me is the one on Gotham Knights. Before that, she was many characters in search of a motive, and never finding one. The writers on Gotham Knights, with the wonderful Olivia Rose Keegan who played this version of the character, took many of the ideas from the earlier incarnations, and beat some sense into them. She was raised to believe she was Joker's Daughter, in Arkham Asylum. Her mother, a notorious con artist named Jane Doe, got Joker to go along with this--as a joke, naturally. This gave Duela (btw, not pronounced "Doola"--Doo-ELLA) some protection from the many dangerous people in Arkham--she worshiped her supposed father, but was very hurt when he left her and Jane, to escape Arkham with Harley Quinn. She became a juvenile delinquent once she left Arkham, without her mother, graduated to planning heists, and in the process of doing that, was approached by the Court of Owls to steal something from Wayne Tower--it was a set-up--she was fingered for the murder of Batman, in this alternate universe. That's how she fell in with a bunch of similarly framed people her own age, including Bruce Wayne's adopted son, Turner Hayes, whom she's attracted to almost from the start. Being with peers brings out a lot of her more positive qualities, but she continues to be distrusted, due to her background, and her reputation. Finally Jane tells her the truth--her biological father is Harvey Dent--what Jane doesn't know is that it was Harvey's alternate persona, who emerged in response to parental abuse, who had an affair with her, with the main personality none the wiser. She stalked Harvey, and not realizing she was telling the truth about the affair, had her committed to Arkham, where she gave birth to a daughter. Duela is baited into shooting Harvey, but he survives. They bond later, but only just before the incident that transforms Harvey into Two-Face. Duela, on Gotham Knights, is a very appealing character. She has a lot of sadness in her, but also a great capacity for love, and a wicked sense of humor. She's an accomplished martial artist, and something of an expert on the history of Gotham City villains. She also has a contempt for the wealthy and privileged, making her a useful ally against the Court of Owls, which she knew about from childhood, growing up in Arkham. She's really a throwback to the original Duela, who adopts the persona of a villain, but wants to be a hero. This one originally aspires to be a villain, but ultimately doesn't fall squarely into any category. She's just--Duela. Beyond category.

You never hear anything about this character. Very cool Marvalous Videos, thank you. I think I will dig into my Batman ( and Detective Comics) issues from copper age and modern age collections and rediscover Duela Dent😎⚡☺

Batwoman was an awful show, and the new 52 version wanting to out class the men is more garbage pushing ideas the fans don't care about. Its as interesting as a cardboard box with nothing in it.
