Brother and Sister Jonathan and Abby go head-to-head in an epic banjo battle on stage. www.theduttons... www.theduttons... www.theduttons... / theduttons / duttons / the_duttons #duttontv #branson #duttonmusic
Thank you to all who have watched and enjoyed our rendition of dueling banjos! We have fun performing on stage and definitely do not take ourselves too seriously haha! We have taken parts of several different renditions of this song and even added a few of our own. We realize it is not how most people have heard it with a guitar and banjo, but instead with two banjos. We have several banjo players in our family, so we figured why not take it way back and follow the example of the original way it was played😊
@@abbyduttonwright1908 you're welcome dear you're look sexy young, hope work today wasn't stressed out,you married can we be friends I'm lonely and single
That’s what I thought! I own a banjo and I’m a beginner and this made me happy to hear that it’s really possible to get that flare sound on this beautiful instrument
It's not often I spend the time to read through all the comments but somehow I did. I'm almost embarrassed for some of them. I thought you guys were talented and great performers. Not only the banjo but the interaction. Apologies on behalf of humanity.
Bravo siblings. I'd say this is a virtuosity in banjo playing. Master Earl Scrugs would certainly be pleasantly surprised to see what could still be taught to the banjo after his death.
@@theduttons Thank you for the pleasing answer. When I talked to some great banjo players in our country, they generally told me that they had learned to play according to Earl Scrugs' gang school. Greetings from CZ.
I woke up this morning a few hours ago feeling terribly depressed. Been a rough two years. I have less mobility than ever before, deconditioned limbs and severe spinal nerve damage. Yes it gets me down, of course it does, I don't think I'd be normal if it didn't but just now, watching this pair of superbly talented people, who I must admit that I didn't know, gave me hope for a good day. I've always been a sucker for Duelling Banjos, yep, I saw Deliverance when it came out. Anyhoo, just wanted to let you know that you helped me this morning. Oh and greetings from London, England.
Wow thank you Hugo. We are so glad we were able to bring a smile to your face today. Please take care. Hopefully we will get to meet you one day in London.
would be so much fun to see this live. What a blessing to have so much talent in one family, and be able to share it together. Music is such an important part of life, thanks for sharing!
yeee haaaaw thats some picking and grinning right there i tells ya that there set of banjo strings needed a dr after that show emmm hmmmm . thats fer sure .
Who won??? The people who cannot hear and the people who left their hearing aid at home!!!! Lol. Hahahaha. If they practice for another decade, they just might be good.
@@theduttons I have a great teacher. She is a female. She said I am doing great. So I guess I am doing great. Her opinion is the only one important to me. As far y'all, don't give up. Keep on practicing and find you a great banjo teacher. And no,you cannot have mine. So very sorry. But find your own banjo teacher and I wished both of you good luck.
I play in a duo years ago and we did dueling banjos and I used 1 bicycle horn that I was able to get several different sounds from and we played that song every weekend. The tips were well worth the time developing that song.
They would come to the private resort I worked at in Carmel Valley in the 90s. Buck Owens and Roy Clark not at the same time though or at least that I knew of, never saw Buck Trent. Cheryl Ladd was a regular. Clint E. was a member, I kept his Brass locker name plate nice and shinny. Wasn't my job but I figured as a fellow Brother in Arms at Monterey's Fort Ord California Base it was the least I could do for a fellow Army Veteran!!
What Jon means....is that right now we are doing Wed Matinees at 2pm, and Thursday and Saturday evenings at 8pm for the time being. As things pick up in Branson and around the country, we will likely add 8pm on Mondays as well. (This is all for May/June 2020 and subject to change depending on the virus standing.)
The truly only version of dueling banjos was from the movie deliverance everything else is a copy never mind music Hollywood is gone we are remaking films from 25 years ago but what is worse is all special effects no genuine acting ability required
So excited to see your show and meet you tonight. I only recently discovered The Duttons and what a treat to be picked up in the parking lot with the cart and the famous Abby as the driver! What a great family!
@@theduttons Looking forward to it.Way back it was said that if the audience loved you in the small tows one was actually good.Hence the phrase How well did they did in Peoria? So it is safe to say that you did well! No wonder your videos are getting alot of views.
Thank you for watching. We haven't had Six on our stage, except for occasional guest appearances. They are currently performing at the Dick Clark American Bandstand Theater.
More than music. Community, effort and capability! America at best. I just finished rereading Stephen Ambrose Band of Brothers. Here it all is the us in the U.S.
