Family brunch, discussing the true meaning of Christmas, taking turns opening presents in a family gift exchange, big family & friends lunch, games & football!
I actually like how Ben asked Henry to look into ben's eyes when he was providing direction (discipline). Good parenting right there because kids are SO easily distracted and making a child try to focus on your "eyes" or "nose" etc really helps them listen and try to understand.
I remember a really old episode of like 17 Kids & Counting possibly where Michelle said she always makes sure to have her children’s eyes when teaching them something. She said if you have their eyes, you have their hearts.
Reminds me of my family Christmases. Only had eight kids though. But being one of the youngest it was so much fun when all my married siblings and their kids came over. Shared gifts and ate forever. It was always loud ,the house was filled with love and laughter. I really miss those days
My brother always had his kids answer with, “yes, Daddy,” when he was trying to get their attention. A couple of my nephews were easily distracted and this helped them focus.
Jessa it was so good to see the Duggar family live! Instead of like 6 to 9 months behind lol. Thank you for letting us get the pleasure of watching your family grow!
I love seeing the family grow and more than anything grow closer together.. and to see the kids opening presents... (I wonder how many sacks of paper for the tip they have.. and wouldn’t want to cook for all of them lol)
I love even more that they showed his Dad talking to him, and explaining what he isn't allowed to do. It seems like with kids that small, parents often just scold, but not teach.
@Mrs.KareMac16 You do realize this is Jessa's RU-vid channel and she can pick up her camera anytime she wants? But I'm sure she's busy with 3 young kiddos.
Actually I’m happy that one of the s wives don’t actually want to be fake when there filming who listens to her body when she is tiered or just can’t be bothered with TLC engender on let’s go to a marriage retreat and try force you in on it. Lauren is a young girl who went through something and just looks sad...
She might just have resting sad face. It’s kind of like resting bitch face but it makes you look sad. I have that face. So I get it. She may not actually be sad or miserable or whatever the tabloids are saying. She just might have that type of resting face when she doesn’t have a particular expression.
I agree, but that’s just a personal preference. Its manners and respect. A lot of Americans still use Sir and Ma’am in regards to respect. We don’t here in Australia but I can see why Ben is using those words
@@popsabelle8400 "dad" is a term of endearment, "sir" is a term of respect. He's instilling in him from the beginning to respect his parents and what they teach him.
Gotta love having an army of uncles to assemble the big toys (and test-play everything else LOL)! so fun! Spurgeon is so sweet with his little bird book - what a gentle soul
This was so much fun to watch... thank you, Jessa, for sharing a part of your Christmas with all of us. Abundant Christmas blessings to you, Ben, your children, and to your other brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews, mom, dad, etc.
I loved this Jessa!! Thank you for sharing your family with us today. I really loved that the camera men weren't there, and it was truly how your family is when they are gone. Shows us that you're all genuinely beautiful, just as we see it on tv. I love how calm everyone is and its not crazy, everyone is so kind to each other.
Thinking of canceling my up and coming xmas parties and get-togethers after those brown stains were brought to my attention here. Really not necessary and around xmas I run out of clothes detergent. Praise The Lord Jesus!
Saudade73 my mom has a loud whistle too, she’d sound off her “signal” whenever it was time for dinner, It didn’t matter where in the neighborhood we were, you could hear it. Our friends would say Cindy, sheri, it’s time to go home” 😂😂😂
I love how raw this was. SO relatable, even for an average “big” family. The more chaos, the better, and this was just a huge spread of people and stuff and food, under a roof where Jesus and love have always resided. Well done, Jessa.
I was going to ask if the adults got gifts or if it was just the children but it looks like you just let the children go first. Merry Christmas, y'all!
She mentioned that they always work from the youngest up :) (probably because of all the excitement that the kiddos have to open their presents as quickly as possible)
Seeing the "Happy Birthday Jesus" banner and hearing that Michelle had you all sign it and add your significant bible verse from this year brought tears to my eyes-how beautiful, and what a treasure you have in your mom to keep Jesus so central to your family's Christmas celebration.💖
Yes! I personally dont celebrate Christmas. Its simply not His birthday. However I totally love and appreciate this beautiful family who exalt the One True Living GOD! GOD the Father through Our LORD and SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST by the Power of the HOLY SPIRIT HALLELUYAH AMEN! Have a blessed and full of wonder day!💝
gail curl they don't believe in birth control and it is their right to have as many children as they want because they believe that all children are gifts from God! I love the Duggar family, and wish I could have grown up in such a loving household!
Henry's speech is improving so much he has so many words now! Also I agree with everyone saying Ivy looks like Felicity. Your family has the cutest babies! Merry Christmas!
When Michelle busted out the megaphone 😂😂. I needed one of those today. Will have one for the next holiday for sure. Look out family, there will be no more “ but I didn’t hear you “ 😂. Merry Christmas Duggar Family ❤️💚❤️💚
I think we forgot that, that many people is their everyday norm. I would imagine I’d feel exhausted after just an hour but for them I bet they love it.
I just love your family. I love the idea of writing the names on their items. I come from a large family. This would have saved many arguments. God bless you all and Merry Christmas 🎄
Mind blown. I would love to have had even one Xmas like that. The little boys will still be playing with their toys next Christmas! Henry cracked me up when he bonked Sturgeon on the head.😄 It obviously didn’t faze Spurgie. I’m guessing that the two of them have a brother-scuffle quite often. Lol. Ivy was the absolute cutest little thing riding around in that little car! She’s the most laid back baby I’ve ever seen. Thanks for sharing this, Jessa. I love your videos. You and your family are very blessed.
You can tell Josie is the baby sister. She is always in your dads arms or cuddling your momma. I love it. Little miracle baby. Also the last baby. I was my mommas last baby and my daddy’s only baby. I was definitely spoiled a little more.
Derrick spilled everything on his Instagram saying Jim Bob doesn't allow them there without his permission due to them no longer being on the show. Apparently Jim Bob never gave any of the children money from filming and kept all the money for himself
i love you and your family so much jess !! i’ve loved you literally since before you got married. i’ve wanted to meet you for forever or talk to you ! i love you sooo much ! merry christmas to y’all!❤️
Carly Jessa and Jinger have always been my favorite. I always thought they were both very beautiful. They both seem to be great moms too. I'd love to meet them both and their families.
Little Josie is getting so big, I almost didn't recognize her! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year's to all the Duggars and extended Family. Thank you for sharing :)
Gran & gramps need to share their non aging secrets. There’s NO way they still look so youthful - the same when the show started - with adult children & now grandchildren!
Looks like your family had a great time! I wish I had a big family like yours. Just wondering I didn’t see Jill’s family in the video did they come over afterwards?
So enjoyed this video. Loved all the food!!!lol lol. I'd invite myself over if I was in the area. Lol lol. Loved seeing all the little ones. So precious. ❤🎄❤
I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this video over the last year. It comforts me😊 I wish I had a big loving family like this to spend holidays with. You are so very lucky to have one another.
Thank you for that. I live in the UK and we dont have a tv (dont want to pay for the licence 😁) so we dont really get to see counting on stuff. We just see whatever clips they show on fb or online here. So this was great to see! I miss it. Been watching you guys since the start! Seems like forever ago!!!
14:34 Gentle place the needle of the record player (Victrola) on the vinyl record (circular vinyl music disc), unless you REALLY dislike "Hawaiian Guitars".
Hahah as an only child this seems like pure chaos.... definitely fun but also sheer chaos. I’m sure to them it’s all very organized and feels normal but holy cow this seems wild to me. I’m sure my family’s Christmas morning seems boring by comparison 😂
Wow, I come from a very small family, grew up as an only child. I could not handle the noise and chaos of all this. I think you’d have to get used to it.
Beloved Just making s statement in case someone took your remark the wrong way because there have been nasty remarks made about Them lately so I think you had. Better lighten up a bit and think before you jump all over someone ‼️ Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
@@leelinr1259 Sorry, I can't read your mind. Besides, I think the ones who hit the "like" understood it perfectly fine, and I don't care what others think about it. No explanation needed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and are free to express it however they want. People are offended WAY to easily and others cater to them. I don't. I'm not being rude, just honest.
Merry Christmas Jessa, Ben and the little ones to your family from ours. May your new year be healthy, happy, filled with love and laughter and be prosperous. I was hoping that all of your sisters and brothers would have been home for Christmas but it is difficult to get everyone under one roof when there is two families to split your time between.
I remember going to my grandmother's house as a kid. She had a mountain cabin which didn't get running water until I was 14. It was overflowing with kids, cousins, and love. Even though it's a different house and family, the atmosphere was the same. Thank you for sharing. Watching the video took me back to my childhood and that special experience of excitement, food, and family.
Omgosh we had the same tradition at my Grammy's.....but it became too much for her a few years ago. So.....now we do nothing on Christmas Eve. Breaks my heart.
Saudade73 Someone else from your family she pick up where she left off! That’s what we’ve done in my family through the generations. When my great grandmother passed away, my great aunt took over Christmas Eve, and when my aunt passed away my mother took over. We still eat the same food every year and follow the same traditions with family, it’s just in a different house. I couldn’t imagine not having our Family Christmas Eve celebration every year! It may have moved around locations, but it’s still the same spirit!
@@BhappyD no one has :( my house is far too small and not in any condition for family get togethers. My mom started the Christmas morning brunch.....but it isnt the same as our Christmas Eve :(
Tara Leigh Yes but you had the most Important thing and that's LOVE and if you have that you are the richest on earth‼️ Then with God there to bless you what more could you ask For ‼️ Blessings and Happy New Year ‼️🕊🕊🕊🕊
I love the beginning when Spurgeon says Merry Christmas and then Henry says it the exact same way! You can tell he really looks up to Spurgeon! And Ben is such a good dad! I love seeing/hearing other families traditions, so thanks for sharing!
Merry Christmas and thank you for sharing your lovely family day with us. It was nice to see this natural, relaxed way you filmed this...seemed like we were part of the family...
