@@user-vv7gt2hu7pyou need to hit the exit button too, basically the voice in the background is one exit trigger and the button is a second exit trigger which then basically tells the game you need to skip a level because exit triggers always go +1 when it comes to the current level number.
Nice run :) even if some random "rush mistakes" is real well done. I didn't get some points, like why death row is skipped, and the save games? Are some kind of caution before hazard moves or? And the color of timers after end leves (red/green) are they meant that they are good or bad score or what? :)
There are less enemies and you take less damage, so it's less risky, and your less likely to get blocked by enemies. I guess you could do the higher difficulties, but you would probably need to alter the route a little to pick up more health/armor, which would be slower.

could you explain to me the clipping to skip the shrink ray? i'm able to do it sometimes by accident. but i want to be able to fully understand how it works. and the location of the secret teleporter that takes you to the boss fight? thanks
Sure! It's done the same way you do almost every clip in the game, except the position is a little more specific. You need to jump, hold the crouch button while in the air, then press the jump button when you hit the ground. It's a lot harder to do the second time, because the roof is lower, so you can't jump as high. If this isn't very clear, I'm planning it upload a newer run in the next couple of days (Which is almost 2 minutes faster than this one lol), where I have my keyboard inputs shown, so that might be a bit more helpful. For the secret teleporter, I'm not sure if you're talking about the one at the end of Toxic Dump, to teleport to the boss level, or the one in the Abyss that takes you near the boss. The toxic dump one is easy, it's just a spot on the wall you can just fly through. No idea why it's there. The Abyss one uses the same glitch as I wrote above, except this time, you're going through a thicker wall, so you need to use steroids and take fall damage. The process is the same though. It's also a little tricky to line up, but if you jetpack up, there's a bit of the wall that sticks out, seen around 1:37. If you line yourself up with the center of that wall and go straight, you should be able to get it.
thanks a lot, i can do the clip a lot smoother now. it will be no time until i master it thanks to you :-). the problem with the last teleporter at the The Abyss is that it kills me sometimes when i try to take it? is that because i'm not using steroids?
Travis Bray great run on the game I waited to come out while in highschool! me and my schoolmate would alternate days for quake and duke. here is my question...on every speed run I see people asking about TAS ..is that a person?? I'm a 40yr old novice gamer
@Charles Rodgers Yeah this game holds a special place in my heart as on of the first game I ever remember playing, with my dad having a copy of it on his Windows 98 computer. TAS stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun. It's basically using special tools and programs to push a game to its absolute limits, usually for speed or glitches. Basically speaking, it's like playing the game in really slow motion, then having a program play the game back at full speed with your inputs, so that everything is done with perfect precision, and as fast as possible. Not only does it allow you to do everything faster, but it also can do glitches that wouldn't be possible by a human, since a TAS can make inputs much faster than a person could, which includes all kind of crazy stuff, such as this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FkQdwUns7H8.html A run will usually be labelled if it's a TAS, so that it doesn't cause confusion as to whether or no the game was played by a person at full speed or not.
