A few notes I forgot to mention: -Nameplates will coming from NarrowPlanet UK but due to long brass etching lead-times will not be here for several months, and I wanted to show him off now. -You might notice he looks a little shiny and clean, but I don't currently want to weather him at least not in a permanent fashion. -Side rods are Brass with steel slide bars and the handrails are done with Slaters Plastickard Knobs and steel wire. Best, -Arlo
Now these are the kind of models I aspire to make. Running on lego track, 3d printed shells and sculpted/printed faces with poseable eyes. This is a beautiful Duke model and you're extremely talented! Can't wait to see what else you have in store.
Wow! Although I've seen many photos of him before. Seeing him move around and shown in detail is a really surreal experience. I can definitely say this is your best model (so far) He'll a true masterpiece and you should be really proud of yourself. Also LOL Gregg is taking over!
Awesomely done man it’s been a while since you made LEGO scale customs can’t wait to see more!! I follow you on Twitter. And I’m currently working on a railway series Thomas model that LEGO scale too! I just want to say thank you! I got my inspirations to make my model LEGO scale models from you!
Absolutely stunning model, do you have any plans to make the print file available either for purchase or for free, or do you have any plans to list it on a website such as shapeways?
Great model! I’m currently working on a Thomas, but it’s not that good. Edit: I have an idea, what about in future you do a showcase of all your human figurines?
Wow arlo, that duke is amazing! I do enjoy an accurate model and yours is no less than stunning, question however, you say duke is a gauge 1 engine, yet he runs on lego track, are the tracks and chassis similar, or is the chassis custom made to scale with that?
Thanks! Gauge 1 here refers to the scale of 1:32 or 10mm to the foot, it here is not referring to the gauge. Duke is gauge 1 scale but as he models the narrow gauge he runs on narrower track than gauge 1 models of standard gauge equipment.
@@SkarloeyBoi ah, I see, however you haven't answered my other question which I hope you'll do as it's important to me. Is that the standard narrow gauge chassis width? Or is it custom built, as well as that, do you know what the scale it's closest too? I'm trying to figure out what gauge is closest to scale to lego track
As great as it would be if that could work, two featherlight micro servos and some plastic eye plates and eyes won’t add anymore than a few ounces to the weight. He will still need a bunch of metal weights glued up in his saddle tank.
