Hey I 'm from Ethiopia. The first time I watched this never aging Mother India movie if I am mistaken 42 years ago. One of the best film I ever watched. I think it shows India's great achievement in film industry. Every time when I watched this movie it reminds me. A good nostalgia. The great actor Sunil Dutt and others remains always in my memory!

Did ypu notice , In this song, two playback singers are giving voice to single character. Md. Rafi ji and mannade ji to Raj kumar and asha ji and shamshad to nargis ji. Actually song was made first then it was shot differently . But the song is so great, nobody can notice this error ❤🎉

It is the most beautiful film to me. I have seen this about 20 times since I was child. 20 years Later...I was studying the film frame by frame. I have seen in this film the most beautiful feelings between a family and the village people. Values of life forgotten many years ago...feelings between Mother & Husband, Mother & children as sons, Feelings between brothers, The ultimate feeling of justice when mother had to make the choice between this an her son.The hole film Is is Poete. There no words to describe the variety of feelings through the songs and the Divine voice of Nargis. I have seen none of any films made after that film to touch me so deep.
