Rebooting back to the real world, as clumsy, scatterbrained, and stuttering as you may be starting off. It'll be worth it, your scythe won't always feel so dull.
This just popped into my recommended, and honestly I was not expecting to be this moved by this. Dullscythe has to be one of my favorite songs porter has ever put out, and the visuals added here are honestly amazing. The visuals just feel so human, just someone out in nature, and all the visual effects match with the music so nicely, I absolutely love the little visual glitches (the blur, black shapes). Overall watching this just made me escape from everything for a little bit. Instead of stressing about the world I was taken away to thinking about having a simple life, accepting all the mistakes I make, all the hardships that come my way, and turning my life into something beautiful.
Wow, you really get it- I wanted to make something that felt natural alongside the visuals, sometimes disconcerting and other times beautiful; human! I’m glad you connected with this video the way you did ❤️
I should extend additional thanks to Leigh and Cathy Broad for allowing me to film at Burrinco Farms in order to create this video! Your support means a lot! 19/02/2022, An edit for the recent attention this has been getting: first of all thank you for all your kind words! I appreciate all of your feedback and compliments, seeing people engage with my little corner of the internet brings me the greatest feelings!! Second, there is more on the way. Slated for this year I have at least one music video, two visualiser projects, and a very very ambitious short film that will be quite different to the stuff I’ve posted so far. There’s more in the works but school and work make it hard to my passions with my commitments. Just know that this year is gonna be great once things get kicked off! I have an roughly animated short film laying around that is fully produced but lacks voice acting. If you’re a VA who would like to generously lend their voice to a small project for free, I would appreciate you getting in contact! A final note, some music label called live nation has somehow managed to attach some random artist’s song to this video and I am unsure why. If you see that just know I am in no way associated with livenation! See you all soon, your support gives me life !
Hello there! I just finished watching your video and the artistry and beauty displayed is amazing! Congrats! On the side of you looking for a VA, if its not filled yet, I would like to know a bit more, to see if I could lend you my help! Anyway, congratulations again on making a beauty of art piece and media! Have a great life!
@@calleeriecreations hello! As it happens, I am still seeking a VA for my project! Is there any way we can have a more in depth and private conversation about this?
This is EXACTLY what I imagined a dullscythe video would be like. The quick cuts between stuttery videos, the glitchy and grainy effects. I can't overstate how much I love this, amazing job!
This is BS. 200 subs with a video like THIS?!! This is criminal. Ive been on youtube for over a decade and a half. And in my all years watching, I cannot think of a single more amazingly produced video. The vision was deeply in sync with the emotions of the music, and the visuals took my breath away. THIS is art, and a perfect example of it. I'm blown away and i feel guilty, like i should have paid to see this. Who needs college when you have this on your resume? Just fkn amazing man. Thank you so much for this. I will scream to the ends of the earth for people to see this.
Thank you so much! It always brings me so much joy to see the little things I’ve left on the internet resonate so much with people. To create something that can have such an impact and bring such strong emotions is a true honour. Thank you so much for watching
I once saw dullscythe described as "a song that is desperatly trying to exist" and that made me appreciate the song more, and now this video made that grow more as it perfectly describes that struggle to form, amazing ✨
Wow, incredible work. This is a perfect video for this song, just how I imagined in my head a video for it would go. You deserve a lot more views, I hope this keeps getting recommended to people.
This reminded me of my Dad always outside working on the yard one way or another. Just a mans man. I hope hes resting peacefully and that I can make him proud from up above 🥲
Hi! Just wanted to thank you for making this video. It's crafted so well for this song and, like another user said, is exactly what I imagined a music video for this song would be like. Cheers!
I'm not very good with words so I can't leave a long essay about how much I loved this, but just know you made me very very happy today and seeing this brings so much inspiration to me.
Fantastic edits, really made me appreciate dullscythe a bit more. This is how i'd imagine the song to be visualised as well! Just constant glitches & back, forths and moments of calm.
I guess you could call it an extended version! I wanted to give the song a proper intro with some buildup so I chopped and played around with some samples from later in the song :)
Randomly got this in my recommended. It is very well made! This is soooo good. This is as good as the song. I got feelings of this edit like I listened to dullscythe my first time. Epic work
I would love to see if you do! My editing style is kind of inspired by how artists produce music, which is why I love making music videos and visualisers so much! It feels right syncing music to visuals.
Thank you for the kind words! It was definitely a long effort, I think I had three of fours hours footage to sift through. Are you interested in lending your voice to the animated short film?
@@NowhereNear sorry I misinterpreted! I have a pinned comment that asks for anyone interested in voicing for one of my short films to reach out! What were you interested in?
Aaaaah tysm !!!!! It really makes my day seeing comments on this video all this time after it’s release ❤️❤️❤️❤️ thank you for your support !!! More to come
It was a combination of the noise and trails/echo effect in FCPX! I think I also played around with the layer blending to get some interesting overlay effects too! I remember I was trying to replicate the effects of datamoshing. The footage here was also shot on tape which gave it some more natural noise so it may be harder to replicate with digital formats! Hope this was helpful!
That’s such a high compliment, thank you! I noticed you follow me on Insta earlier today! And I know the feeling lol. My price wouldn’t be super high but if you ever had the money I’d be more than happy to help out with a project
@@qwert_511 FRRRR right now im about to start uni in september meaning my funds willbe pretty low lol but over the summer im gna try do some comission work and hopefully i can make enough !! ill lyk :)))
I used a combination of four different cameras for different parts! One was a blackmagic pocket cinema camera, two were old HI8 tape cameras I found, and the fourth was a tiny old digital camera! It was a lot of fun switching between them!
