Excellent video. I'm one of true witness this place Valencia and Dumaguete City is beautiful places , friendly people, clean, peaceful, lots beautiful places, lots of cheap food, excellent hospitals, etc, because this places is my Former home town. Thank you sir for this video, which lots of beautiful contents. God bless us.
My family migrated here in Dumaguete from Manila. My wife fell in love in the City. We sold all or our stuffs in manila and start from scratch here. Dumaguete is a laid back city and there are a lot places to visit nearby cities. We tried pulang bato hotspring couple of times already. I agree with the city culture and how the people are very friendly. The customer service here or hospitality is great compare in manila. We are very happy with our decision staying here for good. Amazing Video!
We were in Dumaguete for 8 days 2 years ago and had a blast. The small town atmosphere was cool, so close to nature and Lantaw being our favorite restaurant.
I think the ports make Dumaguete unique. I found Dumaguete by accident on my way to Bohol years ago but I've grown to appreciate Dumaguete in it's own right. The fact that I can stay there and go to Siquijor, Cebu or Bohol with a short boat ride is unique. Also the ports mean Dumaguete has quality ingredients like cheese, that can be hard to find. It's also a great size. A city but not a huge one and so many nice places nearby.
A great video, well done. Truly Dumagete is paradise, of the most friendly people. As long as the foreigners don’t try and make to much like another wealthy large county.
This is an EXCELLENT video and very much appreciated. I follow several American vloggers who are based near Dumaguete City and would love to visit. This is probably the best videos I have seen on Dumaguete and the surrounding area. Thank you!
Probably the best vlogger I have seen in the Philippines.. precise content well produced concise information well presented … nice change from the congested blah blah that is common .. sjb Australia
Superb video kabayan Ian. Truly love Dumaguete where I had the privilege to study at, the land of gentle people makes one to want to reside permanently. Mabuhay ka..mabuhay Dumaguete.
A most excellent video with lots of great reasons to visit or maybe move to Dumaguete City. I am getting excited about going there and exploring and enjoying all there is to take in. Subscribed! Idea for something new might be any organized motorcycle tours or an episode that shows all the different diving companies.
Salamat pare sa very informative and well put together video on Duma! We plan to visit in the next 24-36 mo to look for our retirement spot. Keep up the good work on great content! Amping, Jake
Great job Ian! More of videos like this in Dumaguete, mt hometown. It has grown so much and has a sophisticated flair and interesting places to visit. I like the wholesome activities like karate, tai chi, zumba and sports like volleyball and basketball throught the city, the Dumaguete staduim and boulevard. I like all the variety of restaurants, bars, clubs lining up the boulevard. Its a little South Beach in Miami or a little Vegas with a seaview of Dumaugete Bay. More comprehensive blogs on Dumaguete and surrounding citites and towns.
My fiance and I have been in Valencia, we really like it there, cheaper foods and necessities, people are very nice and friendly and respectful. So peaceful and the environment is healthy unlike Manila 😅 Well, at least cheaper than other tourist spots in the Philippines 😊
Thanks! Sure! Wa lang ko kabalo sa mga secret spots, hopefully mka gather ko info unsa nice e feature nga mga secret spots and if naa mka guide puhon. :)
ako lang ba naka bantay sa "This is Ceres Liner?" hahaha great video sir! Watching this because it's gonna my 1st time going there via Cere Liner tomorrow!
Great video! Lots of really useful info for virtually any activity or interest that anyone would have. I hope you do more. Thanks for the info/website for the tour company. That helps a lot.
It's good to hear that oldie's are tolerated in the party scene if they love live music. I feel like I stopped aging (in my mind) when I was mid-20's or so. I wonder if there are more like me........smh lol
Thank you ! Excellent ! Missed Dumaguete city ! During 1970-75 .. It's simple life ... Simple dorm life at Silliman ... missed Tartanillas ! And MARICAR'S ..BEST SNACK HOUSE ..THEY SERVED THE BEST SPAGHETTIS MY FAVE ..SCANDINAVIAN ... and sweet Floating Island cake ! God Bless !
Dumaguete has develop a lot, plenty of good restaurants and coffee shop. But the bad side is..overcrowding and traffic is getting heavier as time goes by. But still it's my hometown. Ill keep coming back to Dumaguete, ang ingay niyang kay sarap sa tenga, hinahanap hanap ko. Ill be back next year! NIce video bro!
Nice one bai Ian.. mkmingaw.. Nasimhutan nako burger delights og balot sa blvd.. og sagbot atbang hayahay.. Valencia dli nimo mahurot cguro ang spots ky dghn lapos lapos!
I was browsing RU-vid and I happened to see your RU-vid channel and your last name sound familiar so I mentioned it to my husband. He said Omictin are their relatives. His name is Abner Maglangit Pakilit and his family are from Siquijor particularly in Maria and Enrique Villanueva.
Grabe ang changes ng rizal blvd landscape, in the early & middle of the 90’s (our college days) that Bethel hotel was under construction pa and then now daghan na pala mga establishments for fine dining restos, cafes, bars, etc. Infact maski dunkin donut outlet wapa gani that time🤣🤣🤣. Thank you for this episode, mura napud mi nakabalik sa dgte.👏👏👍
That would be a good idea, but the city has grown fast in the past 3 years anyway, many offices and other establishments are no longer in the city center, and the 4 lane diversion road helped too.
Thank you . I appreciate your video . I am Canadian and plan to visit in Feb-March 2024 looking for a nice lady to marry if I'll find the right one . Any suggestions? Thank you .
Thank you very much for watching this video and for the kind comment, I am looking forward to improve my video making skills and create more content, :)
I didn't watch the entire video as I'm already generally convinced that Dumaguete and Valencia are a really nice place to live and retire to--except my wife and I already retired to the Bacolod area. Oh, well.

Dumaguete without all the American Vloggers Drama is a great place. Right now, not so much. It´s too much Trump drama. I mean to many lies and drama between Americans.
If you follow you tube and search about Dumaguete, topic od expat wars come up and that's when I knew about them existing in Duma and not getting on well with each other. It's simply tit for tat really. We had our holiday back in April-May months ago and never had a scratch for expat wars. Expat wars in Dumaguete had been blown up, in reality for every filipino snoops marites, can't smell it in the air unless one goes online. We'd been to Duma, never seen one youtuber down the street. They are mainly tiny sub groups or cliques of people just like handful of neighbours having a row. But it seemed making bad some impression of Dumaguete which is unfair.
@@Tittha I don't get caught up in the drama either & because I keep myself to myself, but just the thought of enjoying a meal or drink out without the sound of an American accent would have been blissful. I'm not anti anyone, but sometimes enough is enough.
The place is very quaint and i like the fact that Dumaguete has no traffic light yet and the people are nicer than some of the visyan provinces I’ve been. Thanks
There must be something that attract retirees because they keep coming back and finally settled there. It's now over crowded with many foreigners like Europeans, but mostly Americans.
