Hi Peter, In Baguio I have a Yamaha YBR, a small bike, only 125cc, but big enough for the Philippine roads. In Dumaguete I used to ride a Kawasaki Avenger, a 220cc bike.
Thanks Theo. I am planning to live in Dumaguete one day and was wondering what is the best bike to get around on, although my partner wants to drive a car. Must be really cold riding up in Baguio! I owned a Ducati, but I think PI is not the place for such a bike. Take care. I will be in Dumaguete early next month. Will you be there at that time?
Well, I live in Dumaguete (actually Dauin) but I am in Sydney at the moment, my Philippino wife has a project here. I am not sure when I will be back but I hope before Xmas. Too cold for me in Sydney. With regards to the bike I believe that anything over 400cc is suicide in that country. Even my 125cc is fast enough for me there. Baguio is very cold and very wet, not my place. When I am back I plan to ride my Yamaha from Baguio to Dumaguete as much as possible over land. I've done that with my car, great journey! Take care!
