This project is now a android game. Get it here: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.UnluckyDuck.Drifto Get updates here: twitter.com/JoesMoesFoes
I think it will be difficult for this simple game, but add a city at home just gray pillars and occasionally like people on the streets. then the game will be more lively
A lot has changed since this video was released, check out the updated version Trailer: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FXp3320CK2s.html Play Store: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.UnluckyDuck.Drifto
Honestly, I didn't research anything before making this. The "physics" here are spaceship physics. The car just accelerates in the direction its facing, no friction at all. I made another video explaining the updated mechanics in Drifto (the video we're on now was the first prototype for Drifto). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vUONgA8ud_A.html The research for this was a mix of various RU-vid physics lectures, breakdowns of how other games did it, and most importantly, toying around with what I already had. I reckon these were the most helpful for me GDC talk on vehicle physics in JC4 by Hamish Young: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0jsENVOmkxc.html Toyful Games car controller breakdown: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CdPYlj5uZeI.html
Hi man! Great job! Can you share an actual car controller script? I really want to learn how to create this kind of physics but on wheel colliders, thank you!
Sure can Both controllers are raycast based. I'm unsure how useful they'll be with wheel colliders. What you see in this video is controlled by this: github.com/JohnnyHowe/drifto-old/tree/dev/Assets/Car/Scriptsgithub.com/JohnnyHowe/drifto-old/tree/dev/Assets/Car/Scripts But in the live version of Drifto has this for the car controller. pastebin.com/Xf0CtuLM I can only share the one file as there are private items in the repo.
can u make like a quick tutorial or just send me the scripts? Cuz i still dont really fully understand how to use spaceship physics, it'll be great if u can help.
The project is public here, you can download the whole thing: github.com/JohnnyHowe/drifto-old But this is the particular script you're looking for: github.com/JohnnyHowe/drifto-old/blob/dev/Assets/Car/Scripts/Car_PlayerMovement.cs
@@jonathonhowe in your released game i saw on a video that the numbers are on the cars themselfs. i personally dont like that. maybe let players choose where the numbers to be?
@@zendraw3468 ah, I see. That's a good idea. However, I'm planning on changing the scoring system such that those numbers will not be shown anywhere at all.
I want that map right now ..... Instead of having waaaax to powerfull ferraris and shit and a invisible car.... Mehh...its a good game....but there is air to the top..... A little bit of bodykit or some different runs.... But that skylin from ur thumbail in game sucks.....way toooo fast... One silvia One subaru One 240sx or some..... It gets booooooring.....
