The general in the pig war also sent his letter to Washington informing them of the war an odd route in order to buy time. He thought he could defeat the British on the island before either government had even heard about the event, despite his army being vastly inferior.

the war of the bucket never happened, I both studied the subject in the library and watched some videos about it. That story was probably invented years after the fact. In truth the 2 cities were at war already and the bucket was taken as a souvenear.

Having been born in Bulgaria, I ain't really surprised to see this place on this list. And, even tho, I was into history, I haven't heard of this war. Mate you may know it as Petrich Incident, it is known for people who are listening in 10 grade history classes. It is kinda big deal because it is one example of good politics from Bulgarian side and good use of UN.

That's because it never happened like that. It happened though. It was the Incident of Demir Kappu, were Greek and Bulgarian soldiers started swearing each other and things got super heated. One reason for that was the incursions of gangs of Komitadjis from Bulgaria towards Greece. Oh well, a huge mishap by the then greek dictator...

Every war in history has always been fought over the same thing, Land. All treaties ending wars typically involve exchanges in land. You can see most of these wars were truly fought over some kind of land border dispute. All other items cited are excuses.

I know the story. This is the Pig wars. It began in 1859 when a person named Lyman Cutler shot a pig which led to a war but it ended within a few years and the casualties was just a Pig.

In 1976 the United States and North Korea almost went to war over a poplar tree. A couple of American servicemen were ordered to cut down a tree on the DMZ that was obstructing the view. North Korean forces murdered those servicemen. Then the United States readied its military for war and did a large troop build up while also sending a few more soldiers out to take care of the tree.

Ironic that's how the first sioux war started. The cow incident of 1854 a Morman complained to the military at fort Laramie Wyoming. Lt. Gratton was sent out to the Lakota encampment. He asked chief conquering bear were is the cow and the Lakota warrior responsible for the thief? Conquering bear said no then the.soldiers open fire killing conquering bear and the Lakota warriors led by chief spotted tail killed all 29 soldiers including Lt Gratton. It was the Gratton massacre of 1854,, the Lakota brule war!
