Hey Jhon. I'd like to see a video where you show to a typical tourist what to do in case of terrorist attack or these hate attack that we are exposed everyday in USA.
Here Be Barr , hi john , I’ve followed your vids on the build up to our trip to nyc (we are here now !) I just want to say thanks your advice has helped no end , and the latest video in dumbo was excellent so we are going to do it tomorrow !- again thanks from the Edwards family travelling from the uk
Hey John. I'm looking to take that ferry from pier 11 to Dumbo next Friday. I don't see it as a final destination so I'm wondering what ferry it is exactly and do I need to buy tickets in advance? Thanks John, my wife and I love your videos.
dotry22 hi - did this 2 days ago very easy , app called nyc ferry has maps and you can pre purchase tickets which you activate a few minutes before you board all on your phone, it’s very quick to dumbo and the pier at dumbo is perfectly situated for everything hope that helps
My wedding dinner took place at Celestine. As I have commented before, I am a born and raised Midwesterner. Anyways, long story short, the original restaurant I wanted to book my post wedding dinner at was not available. I stumbled across a restaurant called Celestine, which is located in DUMBO. It was the biggest blessing in disguise having that first restaurant fall through because the views in DUMBO and the views from that restaurant were breathtaking. This video brought me back to my special day! I can’t wait to go back. Thank you as always for your incredible videos!
Great video. We had our first trip to NYC at the beginning of February and surprisingly DUMBO was our favourite area. The scenery and TimeOut Market are outstanding. Keep up the great content
John, You elevated my experience here in NY to the next level. Your content and knowledge heightened my time here and I wanted to thank you. I have one final day here and I'm definitely going to check out Dumbo Brooklyn.
Oh, yeah, Jacques Torres! I usually go to his store on the Upper West Side and guess what? We got some Valentines chocolates there yesterday at 75% off! Great tips about DUMBO, thanks, you're the best. Team Adriana would have known more about fashion!
This makes me feel great about how I hit up DUMBO a few months ago. Did everything except the food stops since I have a dairy allergy. Your videos were great for research!
Great video. Dumbo is definitely a must see, especially since they opened Timeout Market. As a New Yorker, I have to say you do a great job with your content capturing the essence of New York. Since watching your content, I've been inspired to create my own channel! Keep up the great work, always looking forward to see your latest videos.
Congrats Jon on your professionally done video of DUMBO, with Bluetooth audio......very nice! That pizza looked delicious! Looking forward to all your future videos. Walt in Miami
Great great great video Jon! One of the best guides I've seen from you. The quality of the tips is always top notch, mixing trendy and less famous things to do, some history bites, but I really loved the structure you gave, the dynamic between head shots, b-rolls, vlog style clips. Plus of course, someone gave you a hand with filming... :)
Smorgasburg was in that st Anne's warehouse on Saturdays when we stayed in Dumbo for a week in 2013. Stayed in the old envelope factory on Plymouth street right under the Manhattan bridge. A huge loft on Airbnb
Hey. I just wanted to say thanks for making all these videos. I used them as inspiration when I brought 28 students from the UK to NYC last week and took them off the beaten track a little. They loved DUMBO and Chelsea Markets so if it wasn't for your videos they wouldn't have experienced these places!
Man! I came back from NYC today, your movies helped me so, so, so much getting around the city. Keep doing what you do, I hope I will come back to NYC one day.
I’m from the UK and was in Dumbo this week with my wife. We were having a slice of pizza in dumbo and saw you filming this. Didn’t want to disturb your flow but great to see you in action!
The tracks in Dumbo, there used to be alot of them down there. Gentrification cancer recently had most of them tarred. There used to be alot of them by the Manhattan Bridge and they got tarred.
I love everything about your videos mate. Starting with your charismatic way to approach the themes you talk about, the songs you choose, the edition, ...... Thanks for doing this job, is really joy to watch. Cheers!
I've only been there once,, although I grew up in Brooklyn. When I was growing up there, I think the only reason to be there was if you worked for Con Ed. You've really made me want to go back for a photo odyssey. One thing I do remember from my visit (about ten years ago) is that most of the residents must have pets, ,because I saw three pet stores within about two blocks.
Thanks for this guide. We saw it one night and went to Brooklyn from Manhattan the next day. Took the photos, ate pizza, Br Heights and the ferry back. Just wonderful 🤩
We always walk over the Manhattan Bridge to get to Dumbo as it is less crowded with tourists vs the Brooklyn Bridge but the ferry looks like a great option now too!
I wish I could watch this video before travelling to NYC this Feb; I have missed Dumbo during my trip. But definitely put it into my pocket list for next time to NYC. You channel is absolutely amazing source to tourists plan to visit NYC.
Thank you so much for all of this advice and tips! Just visited Brooklyn all the way from Singapore a few days ago. Everything was perfect despite the snowstorm
Looks amazing. Taking my daughter to NYC in July for her 18th birthday. First visit glories both of us. We were this of walking over the manhatten bridge, look round DUMBO, then back over the brooklyn bridge.
Very helpful guide! Thank you so much! Going to New York for the first time and I have been watching your videos. Your videos are the most detailed and most helpful.
Another fun video as always, Jon. I always have a great time in DUMBO in the summer taking in the street art, public parks, and delicious food options.
I love these videos. I've been to NYC nine times. Then the pandemic hit and that was that. I live in Canada now and it's only a five-hour drive to NYC from my house (yes, I mapped it) However, I usually fly into Newark. I still have not managed to walk every neighborhood as I'd like to. Honestly, you can go to NYC and spend a lot of money but, you do not have to! So much is going on that just pick a neighborhood, walk through it all day, take a break in a park and take a chance on all the food that's available and talk to people. It's just magic!!!!! Since this pandemic hit and I have not been able to go I think my next trip needs to be an extended Airbnb. Maybe a month. I miss you NYC!! Thanks for the videos. They go more into depth and are more locally focused on the different areas than just "Here's ten tourist things" videos do.
Thank you brother for the insight you give us, am taking my sister to nyc next week can’t wait to visit all the pizza joints you show in other videos and definitely coming to Brooklyn I want to take that iconic bridge picture.
*YES!!* Thanks for making MORE BROOKLYN CONTENT!!!! PLEASE MORE!!! BRO PLEASE!!!! I did 4 days in Dec 2019 in Manhattan near 2nd & 34th I believe, now doing 4 days in April 2020 in Brooklyn- Bed Stuy.
The Timeout Market reminded me of the various East Atlanta diaries, Auburn Ave Market and city markets (Ponce City Market and Marietta City Marketplace) in metro Atlanta. I loved DUMBO!! When I become a millionaire, I’ll live in DUMBO to be near my grands in the summer and head south for the winter. Originally from Michigan and the Great Lakes lake effect has ruined my ability to survive in freezing weather.
Love this video. We visited LA in 2019 from Scotland,UK in 2019...loved it,dying to go back but having seen your NY vids.......oh my,they look stunning........i love the whole atmosphere of the city and the mobo thing.......i think NYC is a must do soon........thanks for the video.
Whenever i'm in NYC i go to DUMBO, it's so a beautiful Place 🗽❤❤❤ your amazing Video it's so a wonderful memorie for me, thanks so much for this 🙏🥰 i come back and can not wait any longer ☀️😎 Hope and pray you are safe in this hard Times 😷🙏🙏🙏 Love greetings from Germany to you 🕊🌸🌸🌸
Great video! We have not yet been to the Time Out Market and plan to visit and now after watching we know the views from the roof are great. We imagine it’s especially wonderful to see the bridge lit up at night.
Amazing video. I'm coming to NYC in March for the first time and i'm binge watching all your videos. DUMBO looks fantastic and i think i'll easily spend at least half a day there
Incredible views, nice place to get something to eat and shop, and I don't live too far from here.love Dumbo Brooklyn will be my hot spot in the Spring and Summer 😘
Hey John! This is George, we have met once or twice before and I love all of your videos!!... But I just want to say I have a true confession... I have lived in NYC for 20 years and have never been to DUMBO!! Lately I have been exploring different parts of the city, mostly the Lower East Side, Williamsburg, Hudson Yards, West Village etc... And of course all of my outings turn into a photo shoot of architecture, street art, and street life during the pandemic. Since I live in the East Village and don't like to ride the train too much or go too far away, I am really getting bored and must have walked down every single street around here a million times... I really need a new neighborhood to check out.... Anyway.. Long story short... Just before I went to bed last night I watched this video and I was so impressed and loved your commentary that today I just had to check it out for myself! Wow!! This is the most beautiful place in NYC and already my favorite hood! I had such an awesome day walking around, photographing and of course relaxing and enjoying the stunning views of our city! I can't wait until we are all back to normal so I can enjoy all of the nearby indoor markets, museums, ride the carousel, and go to Jacques Torres!! Thank you so much for this video, or rather giving me the inspiration to finally check out this amazing area that again, I cannot believe in all the years that I lived here have never been to before!! Anyway looking forward to your next video... Stay safe and sane and send my love to Adriana! All the Best, George
Thanks for the great video. I shall be back in New York City this year and will be able to enjoy the delights of DUMBO properly since I will be by myself. I will definitely seek out Jane's carousel, although no rides for this oldster.
8:40 By the time anyone read this, I’m visiting from California. Sitting in the cafe, literally drinking that AMAZING hot chocolate and got the Blueberry thing lol This guy is not lying…
My wife and myself have seen you a week ago right at the Juliana’s entrance. You were busy discussing something with the operator. A year ago, when we just arrived to NY and knew nothing about the city, your channel was very helpful and opened us a lot of new and interesting places. Back then we were joking that some day we would meet you in the city shooting another video, and it happened. Next time we will stop by to greet you in person! :)
