Couplet is a word actually! It’s for poetry though. Source? I’m a grammar nerd. Oh I loved the video, thanks! “A couplet is a pair of successive lines of metre in poetry. A couplet usually consists of two successive lines that rhyme and have the same metre.”
Went to Grimaldi’s in 2017 (hailing from the Nations Capital 😁)...I paid over $20 for a small personal pizza 😳, oooooh BUT IT WAS WORTH EVERY PENNNNNNNYYYY💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉!!!!#divine#fresh#itwillmakeyoudeaf#deeelish
I was just looking at DUMBO videos for my upcoming trip. I'm so glad you posted this one, you, so far along with Here be Barr are my favorite guides to the city! (you are number one of the 2 though, no offense to your friend)
The coffee shop is located on Jay and John St. My kind of intersection....My name is Jay John!!! LOL Great Vid!! Also found out that dude gave the room away to someone else. Hoping you could have taken it.
YMCA Hostels in Manhattan right acroos the extremely famous Broadway Theatres of Manhattan just 3 minutes walkaway is the place I and my friends had stayed for 50 USD each person in 9 persons stay in one room , shared toilets, no breakfast, no carpark. 3 star Hotels overnighting starts from 150 USD per night without breakfast in New York city. I also stayed in Niagara Falls city , water bed possessing nice hotel for 80 USD per night without breakfast. New York state's villages and small towns have Dutch oriented and looking alike barns, houses, villas look like Amsterdam, Rotterdam and very attractive under red colours.
Hey Man I'm in your Vlog! I was the Guy with all the bicycles at Jane's Carousel. I could have told you an amazing story about the Carousel because after all I am a licensed NYC tour guide. Check out my channel I livestream almost everyday from the City!
Every verse in almost every 4/4 song we ever heard, was a couplet. The concrete on that viaduct near the end of the video, looks a little stressed. I always appreciate the effort you put into showing us around. Have to say though; New York looks like a machine, fueled by humanity & greesed by the dead. Your appartments are cell blocks while the chief engineers fly by helicopter in & out of penthouse suites to their country estates. Down on the streets is definately the sump & the exhaust. You could'nt pay me enough to live there. It's like watching an institututionalised convict; walking round a prison camp. Damned optimistic convict he is too. :)
Great video of all the must see sites in DUMBO. Just to mention that location on Washington St. is popular because you can take a picture of the Manhattan Bridge with the Empire State Building between its tower.
I used to work at DUMBO Boulders right there on Plymouth Street...great place to learn how to climb you get a day pass so you can come and go as you please while checking out the rest of the area, Brooklyn Roasting has great the best cold brew in NYC in my opinion (they got rid of the good donuts they used to sell sadly), and Front Street Pizza is the best place to get Pizza or a sub in that part of town. And the weekends in the summer there’s the flea market under the bridge and there’s live music there too.
THANK YOU for your recommendations! Because of you, my friend and I visited a few of the beautiful places you recommended, including the bookstore, Brooklyn Brewing Co, Washington Street for our pic and took so many pictures walking on the Brooklyn Bridge on our way back to Manhattan. Keep up the good work!
you all probably dont give a damn but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any tricks you can give me!
@Samuel Lionel Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hi Tal, I spend a few days in NYC ( not my fist time)It was amazing, unbelievable 🤩🤩I did a lot of things like in your video. Janes Carussel, pebbles beach, roof top, Dumplings, Doughnut Plant,Pizza spots, halal food, Chinatown, Doyers St...thank you so much. And my favorite not from your video-Browns@Jets🏈.Your tips are very helpful.I love this city love your vlog 😍😍😍.greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
It’s the most chill neighborhood in NYC. Everything closes at night, so you won’t have crazies running around after hours. You’ll hear the trains, but if you live in a soundproof place, you’re only hearing it outside. You can ferry in to Manhattan, walk the bridge, take the train, or a cab. Tourists are minimal compared to Midtown.
Dumbo is nice area I lived in Red Hook don't live there no more Brooklyn is nice. Brooklyn heights is nice. Dumbo is beautiful black white people is nice.
Dude that closer look of ur 👃 nose thing while having ur hot chocolate was kinda funny Ur channel is kinda cool, like no heavy editing ND making things look shiny and extra Juz pure pure content
Going to NYC for three days this weekend ,so have limited time so very selective with what places I choose to go. This video convinced me DUMBO is a must😃😃
Sitting here in Orlando, the one thing that turns me off about New York is a word that you said many times in this video. COLD!!! There are a lot of New York ex-pats that live here in Florida. I was there for New Years Eve 2011. After freezing my nuts off in Time Square for a couple of hours in that cattle pen, I got the hell out of there. I hopped on a subway to the Village and had a total blast at The Bitter End. New York's historic and oldest rock and roll club. Do a video of that place and it's history. They live stream the shows there on their site.
But I was kinda serious about seeing a video about the Bitter End if you think it would make a good video . A who's who of entertainers have played there over the decades. Maybe include it in a montage video of historical entertainment places such as Apollo Theatre, Radio City Music Hall, ect.
Man, you're really filling up my schedule for my upcoming trip with these videos! My Google Maps looks crazy with all the saved places and notes I have. And I've even been to several of the places in this video but just by chance, and didn't know the significance to appreciate it, or where to eat! Since you walk a lot doing these, just a thought, take it or leave it... Would it be too weird if you mapped your walks while taping and linked them in the description? I thought it might be interesting, but it might be weird! 😅 Oh, and is the meet up still happening? Do you know when?
No idea when exactly the meet up is happening (we are still planning it) And yes I have the Google links to all these maps actually I'm just trying to find the best way to share them!
They have free kayaking during the summer at pier 2 from 10am-3pm. It's free, but you have to register It's best to get there early and they take registrations until 2:30. I think it's only on weekends though. Manhattan has free kayaking at several piers and for longer hours and during the week. Thanks for mentioning John Street Park. I had no idea about that place. Great video.
Thanks for sharing. Seems like a lot of gentrification. I always heard for many years Dumbo was known for artist studios and galleries. You did not show one, are they all gone now because rents are too high?
Richard Lund yes it was known for artists studios after the factories left. I grew up around here. Back during the Giuliani administration people started to move in to live there. Then he had them removed because that area was not zoned for residential buildings except a few buildings in the area where people had been already living. Then when Bloomberg came into office the zoning laws changed. That's when they started building several luxury buildings and turned the area into what it is today. But going back to the '80s that area was old factories and none of those parks existed. The last park on John Street opened just last year in 2018. Pier 1 which is located to the left or south of the Brooklyn ice cream factory opened in 2010. Yes, the area is very much gentrified. It used to be a quiet area but no more. Lot of vehicular traffic go through there. And they are constantly building luxury apartments in renovated old factory buildings. I'm really shocked at the amount of money they are asking for one and two bedroom apartments in the area. The one good thing is the price of the ferry is currently same as the price of the subway fare which as of this writing is $2.75. The NYC Ferry started operating a few years ago. The yellow ferry taxi ferry costs about $5. But this NYC Ferry is now a scheduled commuter ferry which is great because we have major waterways here that were not being put to use. Contrast that with a city like Bangkok, Thailand where there are several ferries operating on the Chao Phraya River daily. A ferry ride beats a crowded underground train any day.
Heyho Tal ! 99th view, 13th like and 8th comment. Wow, never knew of Dumbo as a neighborhood. Interesting 😻. Currently your at 99,090, I’ve been checking off an on.🤞
Food and Footprints Juliana's is the original then sold the business to Grimaldi's who operated in the same exact location for many years until they had a dispute with the landlord. I believe she wanted to increase the rent sky high. So they got kicked out. Then Grimaldi's moved to #1 Front Street as seen in the video. Then Juliana's decided to reopen. They both claim to use the coal oven pizza which supposedly give it the great taste. Anyway Grimaldi;s sued Juliana's. Their argument was novel one. They claimed that when they bought out the business they bought the rights to make that particular pizza. But eventually they lost the case. But if you go back a few years there used to be a long line outside waiting to get into Grimaldi's in the exact same spot where Juliana's is located now. If you go down the hill a short distance around the corner from Shake Shack you will see Ignazio's pizza located at 4 Water Street. All three business only accept cash. Even though I live a few minutes away I've never eaten in any of them because they only sell whole pizza pies. And I'm not about to treat myself to a whole pizza then be accused of being greedy.
Wayne Samuel Yup! Good summation of the story. Patsy Grimaldi is the OG behind Juliana’s and Grimaldi’s before he sold it. That original coal oven that is in Juliana’s space is key. You should go with someone to try it. Or just fast a bit and take the whole thing down, don’t worry what anyone else thinks haha. It is worth it!
Really liked this one. Never heard of the district name before so gained some knowledge too. So close to your 100K goal. Let us know on the live if you gain any RU-vid privileges apart from the button.

There's only one who can help you with the details of the day and he will be able to make sure you received the documents and the larger size of the box and the other one is definitely not for the faint of heart but it's just a matter of time before the meeting is on the list.
@@TheTravelingClatt the best way to reach out to the other side of the road in the back yard sale for a while now I think it's just a matter of time before the end of this week or next week if that works for the company and they said that I should have a better idea of what you want to do.
